Please put back the option to move individual posts from one thread to another thread. We have had to use this feature in v4.5, not often, but it was a good feature.
It appears that only an entire thread or all posts in a thread can be moved in v5.

It appears that only an entire thread or all posts in a thread can be moved in v5. You can move selected posts, but the option doesn't show up unless you actually select posts (Gear icon > Select post) first. So the feature is there, although I think maybe having it always show in the menu would be helpful. If someone then clicks it without having selected posts, just show a message prompting them to select posts first.

Thank you, Shrike. I will try it out.
ETA: Okay I see that it works, but it is much more cumbersome than in v4.5. to select multiple posts to move at once (not all, but more than one) seems a little counter-intuitive. In fact, what would have taken me 30 seconds to do in v4.5 took me about 5 minutes to do here. Of course I can probably shorten that time with practice, but still, that seem a little long.

You don't need to select a post to have the option to move it,
I'm sorry if you feel it's more cumbersome. We worked with members in adding the features and options that they wanted. We also attempted to make things as simple as possible. You can select multiple posts by alt clicking (currently bugged) or using their gear boxes. Or if you're splitting a thread in half you can use the options in the screenshot above. Or just move a single post. All quickly and easily. We put a lot of time into making this very easy to use. If it's taking you 5 minutes to move a post you're doing something wrong. It should take you 5 seconds.

It wasn't 5 minutes to move A post; it was 5 minutes to move SEVERAL selected posts. Yes, I did all those things mentioned, the gear to select a specific post, etc. as you described. It takes longer than it used to in v4.5. I can get used to it, if I have to. But I thought I'd point out that it is more cumbersome this way. But also, it's not very often that we have to move a few selected posts to another thread, so it's probably not important.

Once alt + clicking posts is working again I think you'll be happier with the speed. Also, it's really subjective based on which posts you're moving. Like I showed above, if you are splitting a thread in half it's way faster than v4. Selecting every other post in a thread right now is probably slower but only because you can't hold down alt and scroll and click your way down the page right now (should be fixed soon, btw).

Sort of related. That move all below option is great. Is there a way that there could be a 'delete all below'? When we do character approvals one of the most cumbersome things is deleting the post conversation from underneath the application at the moment. (painfully slow on V4)

Hi Maiden,
Hmmmmm, I'll add this to a list of future ideas. I'm not sure that deleting half a thread is common enough to take up space in the menu. However we could implement a few more features for deleting potentially in the future. Just like move has a pop out menu we could do something similar for deleting. Thanks for the idea.
For now I figured out the fastest way to do this is to use the move feature. Select the posts you want to delete but use the move feature instead. Choose to create a new thread. Enter a fake title. Once you move them you are automatically placed in the new thread. Just click Delete in the threads action menu and the whole thread disappears. Boom all gone. just 5 clicks and a keyboard key. Still pretty fast when you consider you might be deleting dozens of posts simultaneously.

Doesn't selecting several posts and using delete do it quicker ?
I can think of one reason to delete all below, something like affilliate requests (i use a thread with a fixed opening/rules post), or something similar in rpg character requests

I think it just depends on the amount of posts. When she mentioned 'all below' I assumed it was multiple pages of posts. To me the way I said would be faster. But if it was a page or less then multi-selecting and clicking delete would be faster for sure.

It varies wildly, sometimes just one or two, but sometimes it does run to a page or so depending on complexities and PC family having their say. I've started using the move and delete idea a few months ago when it finally struck me, and yes you are right it is very easy (even on V4 with those tick boxes) Just thought I'd ask so thanks for considering

But also, it's not very often that we have to move a few selected posts to another thread, so it's probably not important. Also related, but not yet reported by me is the fact that I am experiencing a huge lagtime while working with v5 in IE8, and maybe that has something to do with this issue, as well.
I have not yet reported that issue because the lagtime has been slowing me down so much that gathering the data to submit a report would take such a long time. Today I decided to do some side-by-side testing with IE8 and Firefox 17.0 both open together and see how things work respectively. I am already seeing a difference.
I will address this on another thread. If such a one exists, I might be able to find it in Firefox on this support forum. In IE8, the lagtime even here on the Support Forum was slowing me down to read about what was already posted. So I hope I can find out if such a thread exists & if not, I'll start my own.
Now the other question (in my mind only) is where is the spell check in Firefox 17?

Spell check in Firefox should be automatic when you type. You can go into Options > Options > Advanced. There is a box to check that says 'Check my spelling as I type'.
If it's checked then your spelling is spell checked.

I see that, and it is checked on my version of Firefox, but it doesn't seem to work as nicely as a pop-up spell checker. And it doesn't suggest corrections. It only underlines in red. I don't find that very helpful at all. I know, ProBoards has nothing to do with that. But it's an annoyance when trying to post on ProBoards forums and spell checking isn't available.Well, I finally figured it out. One of the things about Firefox's spell checker is that it doesn't work the way I expected it to. It didn't pop-up with suggestions. I had to right click each word underlined in red in order to find the spelling corrections. And I was able to add ProBoards to the customizable list of words. So I did get it to work, so that's good. I guess this is a good learning experience.

It operates the same way the spell-checker does in Word, earlene, but I guess you know that now!
