Change reply to Preview reply

when I click on Reply in the quick reply field I auto think it's a submit button but instead it takes me to the visual editor so there fore I think it should be renamed to either preview reply or Full post.

It's not exactly a preview, though, is it? It serves the same function as the regular reply button. You also have the option to change it in your own Layout Templates.

I understand where you're coming from, though. I would make it my job to click it on accident all the time.

Well what it does is take you to a full reply editor so maybe call it Visual editor.

Calling it just Reply is a bit misleading.

Well the quick reply button on the bottom of the quick reply area should show a difference, and to me it would be natural after making a quick reply to hit the quick reply button, the reply button has always been 'reply', just in a place you don't expect, i think there's a template mod for this to move it to the bottom of the main table

There is a difference but I hope I'm not the only one who can see it as misleading, I'm sure it wouldn't be the big of deal if it just got renamed to Visual Editor.

You can move the button where ever you wish. I personally have gotten used to the Reply button as being a useful tool. I very often start to compose a reply and then decide I want to go into the full editor to complete it. Maybe I want an attachment or some other reason. But it's a quick and easy way to get there. The reason it's called Reply is because it is identical to the Reply button at the top of the page. We decided we needed a reply button at the bottom. Since there is no bar (by default) at the bottom of the container to put the button in, we put it in the title bar for the quick reply. It's still near the bottom of the table and not completely in an area where you would expect it to be. By placing it with the quick reply we have provided members a tool to switch to the full editor should they wish it.

The Post Quick Reply is very specifically named to tell you that it is how you post your quick reply. We won't be changing the default of this. However like I and others have said you can modify your template however you wish.
