At the bottom of your profile page, you have the "Other members you might know..." section. I clicked "Follow" on one of those users, one that was already following me. It removed him from the list as feedback. I like that part.
But, as an improvement, I think it also should append him above to the above friends list (even if it assumes he's offline). This would just be a nice set of additional polish.
