Hi ʞɔnʇS - It looks like RADesign has pretty much hit the nail on the head. They've posted a little more than I did, but it looks like they've done the same thing, so no need for me to write it out again. If you're still not sure, the instructions in this thread and the one you linked to will work together when followed individually. If you do have any trouble though, please do reply again. =]

Thanks RADesign & Paul. It worked but i have a few little bits i would like tweaking please. THIS1) I now found i have the post counts for the member twice in the mini profile. 2) Can the ' ON/OFF LINE ' & ' SEND PM ' be made a little bigger, so it is the same size as the top one of the 'POST' count number please?

I think what you've done is not removed enough before pasting the code RADesign gave.
Try resetting your template, and following the instructions in this thread, then the one you linked to. If you do them one after the other, it should work for you. =]

Hi pawlAn odd one. When I converted my V4 Forum to V5 a couple of weeks ago, I added the PM button using exactly the changes as in your very first post. It worked perfectly. But .... I had a problem with the Theme I had used, as it was created on a very early BetaZone board. The upshot was that I had to create a new Theme from scratch. That appeared to be fine, until I noticed that your PM button code was not showing on the posts any more, even though your code was unchanged. I really don't see why/how the changed theme should have caused this. Suggestions???

Each theme has its own set of templates, allowing you to customise your layout for each colour scheme - you'll need to add the code to each theme you wish it to be present on, or re-add it if you remake the template. =]

I'm a little confused why you would want a template for this, when all you have to do is click the gear on a post made by the person you want to PM and select Member > Send Message. Sure, it's not in the same spot as before but the functionality is already there. Sometimes people (myself included) just like the way things were, to be honest. A little stuck in our ways, perhaps. It took me a little while to notice the link in the gear menu, but personally I prefer it in the mini profile, and thought other people might too. I'd already added the code to my own test forum, so I thought I'd pop it up for others who might not be sure how to do it. =] As someone whose had a forum for over 8 years...THANK YOU SO MUCH for being stuck in your ways and posting this!!!

The first line doesn't need touching at all. Just add a new line, and paste in the multicoloured bold section from the first post, and everything should work for you Dreamy. =]

Is there a way to keep the PM in the mini-profile even when members are not online?

Another little one for you, and this one's really easy. =] You might have noticed that the button for sending a PM to a member is no longer in the mini-profile - this little tweak will pop it back in for you. Head to your Admin Panel, then Layout Templates -> Mini Profile Approx lines 27 & 28 should read this; {if $[user.is_online]}<br /><span class="italic">Member is Online</span>{/if} </div><br />Make the changes in the bold line below; {if $[user.is_online]}<br /><span class="italic">Member is Online</span>{/if} {if $[current_user.is_member]}<br /><a href="$[user.pm_href]" alt="PM $[user.name]">Send PM</a>{/if} </div><br />The text in purple is what will display in the mini profile, below the 'Member is Online' text (or, if the user is offline, the Post Count). You can also add an image here, if you'd rather, using an <img src="IMAGE URL" border="0" /> tag. The orange text is what displays when you hover over the link - the $[user.name] is replaced with the members' display name. The whole thing is also wrapped in an {if $[current_user.is_member]} tag (in blue), which means the text/button will only appear for users that are logged in. This can be removed, although I wouldn't recommend it. Easy enough, no? =] I am a coding dummy, so of course I am lost. I don't understand exactly where in the Mini profile this would go. Do I replace something, eliminate a line, copy on paste this somewhere? Here is what my mini profile looks like: <div class="$[miniprofile_class]"> $[user]<br /> {if $[user.is_guest]}Guest<br />{/if} {if $[user.group]} $[user.group.name]<br />$[user.group.stars]<br /> {elseif $[user.rank]} $[user.rank.name]<br /> {if $[user.rank.stars]} $[user.rank.stars]<br /> {/if} {/if} {if $[user.custom_title]}$[user.custom_title]<br />{/if} $[user.warning.bar] <br /> {if $[user.avatar]} <div class="avatar">$[user.avatar]</div><br /> {/if} {if $[user.personal_text.message]} $[user.personal_text]<br /> {/if} {if $[user.is_member]} <span class="karmabuttons"></span> <span class="userKarmaNumber$[user.id]"></span> <span class="karmarank$[user.id]"></span> <div class="info"> Posts: $[user.posts]{if $[user.gender]}<span class="float-right">$[user.gender.image]</span>{/if} {if $[user.location]}<br />$[user.location]{/if} {foreach $[user.mini_custom_field]} <br /><span class="$[user.mini_custom_field.content_class]">$[user.mini_custom_field.name]: $[user.mini_custom_field.value]</span> {/foreach} {if $[user.is_online]}<br /><span class="italic">Member is Online</span>{/if} </div><br /> {/if} {if $[user.badges_miniprofile]} <div class="$[user.badges_miniprofile_container_class]"> {foreach $[user.badges_miniprofile]} $[user.badges_miniprofile.icon] {/foreach} </div> {/if} </div> Please show me what to put in, what to take out, and where. Thanks. Also, in the last post in this thread, RADesign says: Where would that go and what does it do exactly? Thanks...
