is there a way to keep this custom field out of the member profile. cause who wants

Mini Profile Background Image and a url to nothing in their profile

Did you follow all instructions in the OP? Tell me exactly what you did, do you have the custom profile field? Did you set that field to show on the profile? Did you add the part to the mini-profile template?

Hey Shorty

Recently I noticed that my Mini Profile is just showing the link instead of the image itself. It was working fine last time I was on my board so I was wondering if maybe one of the plugins might have messed with something. I've gone through the steps just to make sure that everything was still the same, and it seems to be.

Yes I've had the same problem brought to my attention today from a friend and then went to check on mine and having this issue too, both of our backgrounds gone with just text. It would however be nice if someone could give us an answer but that might be a long time coming. Why I wonder didn't ProBoards think to add a text line for the Mini Profile Background URL as they did on the old version instead of having people scrambling around for a work around? And could have saved many this issue. If they did it on the old style forums why not have included it on the new V5 profiles? What a cock up. Now my custom page is not formatting the html text properly despite there being no errors, except with ProBoards. It was working great hours before now it's just not working. They said on facebook to post my issues and they'd help me out. That was 3 hours ago. Thanks ProBoards. I won't be hosting my main website with you anytime soon. I'd loose too many clients.

This was only supported in the old version via a code. This is a much better system to that.

Which system are you talking about? You're code was working fine then for some reason stopped working. So I guess we can forget having a background image then? And if you mean a much better system you're referring to V5 then why the hell have I spent a whole week to now have a custom page mess up by not displaying the editing zone boxes? Everything locked on the page. I had to delete it to start again as I hadn't finished what I needed to do with more content to now have the HTML not displaying my text correctly. And it isn't my code as it was working fine earlier today. Another cock up. So much for custom pages. I've wasted a whole day's work when I needed to have been doing something else. It's bloody disheartening and a disgrace. This support ProBoard is a testament to that. Fo my own personal business I would never use ProBoards. Thank god I'm with a professional company who manages to fix any issues straight away and I don't loose any business.

I'm not even talking about v5 really. The way you can have the background image in a mini-profile now(via this template edit) is much better than the code you had to use in v4. It really is. I will figure out why its not working anymore, just provide me a link to your forum. And just to note v5 is still in BETA, if you upgraded early that's on you. Now, if you have any bugs, you should report them, so that they can be fixed so that it won't happen again. They will fix it as soon as possible. There are other bugs that need to be fixed. Again, it's in BETA for a reason. This support is the best support I have ever received in all honesty.
