Member Selectable Background Image

I have the temp mod on the beta to try and work it out. As you know, no luck yet. I have the plugin on my board but its intermittent. It needs to be refreshed to work.

I'd like to get one or the other working properly.

Is it possible to combine more than 1 background image?

You mean have the background be multiple images? If so then I have no idea. If there is I don't know it.

2 different background images (different URL's) overlapping each other.

First go to Admin Home > Members > Custom Profile Fields

And then add a field named MiniProfile Background Image. Then change the type to Text Field. Then click "(View/Edit)" and select the URL button. Then save and close the popup. Then change the location to Members Profiles Only.

Now time to edit the miniprofile template.

Go to Admin Home > Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile

Now on line 1, you'll see this:

<div class="$[miniprofile_class]">


And replace that with this:

<div class="$[miniprofile_class]" {foreach $[user.custom_field]} {if $[user.custom_field.name] == "MiniProfile Background Image"}style="background-image: url('$[user.custom_field.value]');"{/if}{/foreach}>


Now to add an image just go to your profile, then edit profile, then the personal tab. At the bottom you will see "MiniProfile Background Image" with an input field below it, just enter the image URL and voila.

well i got this to half work , how do i get rid of the default avatar box please? thank you , here is a screen shot

Do you want the avatar to be hidden on every mini-profile, or just ones where there is a background?

I'll get that to you within the next couple of days. I'm packing so I can move back to school tomorrow, and then the next few days will be moving in and getting settled. But I should get it before the end of the weekend.

hiya , I am now having a problem that is does not work on some themes yet on others it works perfectly , why is that ?

You have to put the template mod onto each theme.
