[Template] Replace On/Off with Coloured Cells

pawl, is there any way to do this but for folders? So each folder would have its own colour. Multi folders (for example: Hot announcement, sticky hot) could be gradient?

I don't see why it shouldn't be. I have a couple of errands to run this afternoon, but expect something this evening, UK time. =]

I'll be honest, I'm rubbish and never got round to this. Got a couple of hours to kill on the train tomorrow, but I very much doubt that I'll have internet access, unfortunately.
If I pay for it at the hotel (spending a few days in London with some friends, but taking laptop for music and stuff) and I get anything done I'll post it up, otherwise it will be some time around the 6th. I'll get it done eventually though, I promise! =P

I really don't, I can assure you. This is something of a one-off that's probably going to cost me every penny that I have to my name, just in time to get back to a credit card bill for bike insurance. xD

Okay, currently using the 15 minutes of free wifi on the train, not much progress so far.
Haven't done any testing, but this is the work so far (which is probably already broken xD)

Considering that was done from memory I'm rather proud of myself, haha. Well, had the initial template, but whatever. xD

Anyway. Adding that might work (I'd try, but wifi is mega slow, and don't wanna break anything I then can't fix for a few days). Feel free to chuck it in and see if it works (I think it may cause the other cells to be badly sized, haven't yet searched through the stylesheet for the bit that controls them), but they may be halfway there. =]

That is super awesome. Thanks so much.

One slight problem though. I have changed the width in the layout template from 10%, to 2%, but it hasn't changed width at all.
I only have 2 bits for my thread list that need to be a percentage, they are "replies" and "subject". Subject is at 85% and replies is at 15%.

Also, I added thread_hot to both the css and Template, but it doesn't seem to work.
I have a normal thread that is hot, but it doesn't show as hot.

Right, getting a little closer;

Got the width down. Set it to 10px as standard, but also had to reduce the cell padding (it was set to 10px, which was stretching everything out)
table.list > tbody > tr > td
padding wants to be 5 instead, but be aware that it will affect all the cells.

That will get your width down.


As for the cells not colouring properly, that one I've yet to figure out. The 'regular' colour shows fine, however all other colours go back to the default, and when I inspect the element it just tells me that it's not recognising the background colour property. That one you'll have to leave with me, but it'll work eventually. =P

This is the second topic that has given me no indication as being updated.
I think I have removed the Theme I was using this on, however, I plan my next theme to use coloured cells so I will re-attempt then.

I love the idea of coloured cells as opposed to images. Not only because images are so time consuming, either lol
It just has such a nice, cleaner feel to them in my opinion.

Haha, figured it out Stinky666 =D

Turns out that I was just being a fool, and the only reason things weren't colouring properly is that I'd forgotten how to count, and had set the test colours to ff000 instead of ff0000 >_<
Will post up a thread in the next couple of days (once I've worked out exactly what I've done) giving a proper breakdown, but in the meantime the replies here should suffice to get something working.
When I do that I'll also make a proper request for is_hot to be added to the list of variables. =]

the on and off post is in the legend but not next to the row/thread board, if that even makes any sense.
