Hey Todge, is there anyway you would or could code a update on this to allow comments? Just an idea. Either way I still love the plugin and use it on my forum

It could be done using a key to store the comments, but with only 4kb of storage per key, that could very easily be used up.
I'll see about doing that but limiting comments to, say, 200 characters. That would allow a maximum of 20 comments per image.

The things I learn here. lol. But that would be an interesting addition, even if it does use a key.

I'll leave a link in the opening thread to the current version, so if you don't want the 'key' version, it will still be available.

Personally, I prefer them without comments, as it is easy for the comments section to go off topic and mess things up. We have a separate thread for comments, if people are determined enough to make them. As for the galleries, they can click on Like (thumb up) to acknowledge gallery entries. Maybe there could be a choice to activate comments or not!

I'm shying away from having the comments as an option because they would require a key, and as you only get so many free keys it seems silly to have a plugin that initialises a key, only to not use it. Because of that there will be two versions of the plugin, this one, with no comments allowed, and one that has comments, so you'll have the choice of which you'd like to have.

That makes sense, Todge. I am happy with the gallery plugin that I have, that has no room for comments, but has the Like facility. Thank you very much.

I personally like it without comments either. The only reason I had brought up the idea of one with comments is because there are people that want to know what others think about their work. However I didn't know that the addition of comments would mean a key is needed or that the comments would be so few. Still... sometimes it's good to have options. That being said the fact that there is a way to do a gallery at all is good with me so thank you for the add-on Todge.

If not for a key, the only way to attach a comment t an image would be to edit the post containing said image, otherwise all comments would be attached to the end of the thread, making it look rather random, this is an update of an old v4.5 code, before we had keys to play with, so that's why it doesn't have them. There has always been some interest in having comments for your images, so I'll go ahead and add them anyhow, but it will be a complete new plugin, though the two should be compatible, as in you should be able to switch from one to the other without losing your galleries.

Thanks for sharing, Timebomb007. That looks brilliant. I think I'll have to eat my words and introduce comments in my Galleries.

You appear to have the Member Gallery plugin installed twice on your forum, once near the top of the list, and again at the bottom. Remove the top one and all should be good.

Thanks, you're right. I have to remember that when updating a plugin.
