8.1 is certainly better than 8, and 9 is meant to be even more 'desktop friendly'.
I would much rather wait for Windows 9 for that one reason, but as I said, I am not going to wait 6 months to get a computer, so 8.1 will have to do, at least for now.

Quick question Todge. Can members comment using the posting format in members galleries? Because someone has on mine on my forum. I thought they could only comment using the comments bit under pictures? They shouldn't be able to, but unfortunately plugins do not work on the modile app, so anyone using that will indeed be able to post in a member's gallery, which will in turn break the code, not allowing any further gallery inputs. That is on my list to try and rectify when I get me new PC.

This is great. I was afraid that there would be no gallery function, my main requirement. The installation went smoothly and in just a few minutes. A great tool, made me very happy. Only one minor niggle; is there an easy way for me to alter the image background color, I am looking for a light grey, for easier viewing.I found a solution, all is good Dave

bandungbugs.freeforums.net/
This is going well.
I inserted the key successfully, above the gallery plugin, but I don't seem to be able to stop guests from leaving comments:
What I have set; Structure - categories and boards - edit properties - permissions
I set: Who can view - everyone Who can access - everyone Who can create - staff who can reply to threads - members & staff Who can create polls - staff
I want guests to be able to view, but they must join to comment. Am I doing something wrong.
Also, is it possible to delete individual comments. I did some test comments that I would like to remove.
If nothing can be done, this is not a major thing. I am so happy to have the gallery.
Dave

Is it possible to add other options to the plugin? Like if I wanted to use the gallery for my member's original characters, i'd want to add text boxes for "age, name, height" etc.

I'll add it to my list of things to get done. Feel free to remind me if you think I'm taking too long.

Greetings,
I am attempting to implement the gallery on my forum. I have create a board called "Gallery". I have downloaded and installed both plugins. However, when I go the Gallery board and select "Create Gallery", I see a quick flash of the post area, and then it disappears. It's like something is causing it to be hidden. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Allaworld

Is there a way to tell which plug-ins may interfering with the gallery plugin (other than just unchecking each one). I am using the facebook theme, and when I install the photo gallery plug-ins, they make all of my post vanish. When I disable (uncheck) the plug-ins, they are all back.

Greetings, I am attempting to implement the gallery on my forum. I have create a board called "Gallery". I have downloaded and installed both plugins. However, when I go the Gallery board and select "Create Gallery", I see a quick flash of the post area, and then it disappears. It's like something is causing it to be hidden. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Allaworld This plugin creates it's own post area, and hides the standard one in doing so. I'm surprised that you can see it disappear, but it sounds like the plugin is working correctly as far as this is concerned. You could try moving it up the plugin list to see if that helps. Is there a way to tell which plug-ins may interfering with the gallery plugin (other than just unchecking each one). I am using the facebook theme, and when I install the photo gallery plug-ins, they make all of my post vanish. When I disable (uncheck) the plug-ins, they are all back. This plugin restructures the posts/threads on your forum, so it will probably hide the effects of your other plugins, BUT it should only do this to the board you have nominated as your gallery. If this is not the case, I would need to see your forum, specifically the threads that you're having trouble with to try and work out what could be going on.
