I'll take a wild guess and say ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥ and @ritab are using a webkit based browsr such as Safari or Chrome (I don't think Opera has switched to webkit yet) and this bug is the reason the page loads twice in those browsers.

If you recall Wormopolis, you made a similar observation a while back when going to a thread using the last post column which they seem to have fixed except for webkit

I dont have a useful memory.  Its similar to ash repeating the 3 magic words before removing the necronomicon

It's in the threads for me. In fact, one of the folks (DharmaCat) noticed it. She thought I had removed the smear for her.

My board is completely open, if you want to take a look.  It's in my siggy. 

I even removed the icon I used for my name because I like the smear so much. And sometimes, even that didn't load all of the time and my display name would be plain type instead of the image I replaced it with. 

WildwoodFlower, Tangledupinbloo, DharmaCat and myself are all smeared right now. Three of us are smeared in our display names and custom titles.

You are correct, Chris. I use Chrome most of the time. Until it gets really glitchy around here ~ at which point I switch to FF.

IE seems to work just fine. have to wait until I return home before I can check FF and chrome

In FF, everything loads beautifully the first time around. I just checked. No need for second loads there on anything ~ including Chris timestamp code or your ColorSmear.

No worries on my part, because I don't think it's your fault/problem. I think it's ProBoards' Chrome issues which really are the pits including loading and angry bears. I've even had problems with Todge's smilies. They work; they don't work. But it's always in Chrome.

I don't use IE because it takes forever and a day to load and the admin pages don't show in the same format as they do in Chrome or FF.

For me, FF is most stable when on ProBoards. But I still prefer Chrome and wish it worked better here.

BTW, Wormopolis, it also happens with Moods in Chrome. It only shows the icon after "refresh". Otherwise, the word displays instead. In FF, the icon shows on first loading.

Thought this screenshot in Chrome might help.

As you can see, the participants in the PM are color smeared ~ but in the profile, neither Dharma's name or custom title are and they should be.

I use Chrome most of the time. However, when I have to check specific things out, or when ProBoards is acting more weird than usual in Chrome, I use FF. IE is used only when I am checking out my themes to see how they look in cross-browsers.

But those times I am in FF and IE, your plug-ins are working. They just aren't reading correctly in Chrome ~ until you refresh the page. Refreshing makes the items appear correctly ~ everytime. The same goes for the Profile Mood.
