Yes, your board will eventually be upgraded automatically. This support board is now upgraded to v5, so your own forum will look similar to this. You don't NEED to do a beta forum, no. But it would give you the ability to see the changes in the admin panel, especially. Quite a bit has changed there, and you may appreciate the time to familiarize yourself with it ahead of time.

Concerning artwork, headers, etc., will that all stay the same? Same colors? All the messages, categories, etc., kept in place if I just wait for the upgrade? And we can't switch over till the 28th, correct? (Lord in heaven, I am SO bad at all this! LOL They shouldn't let 62-year-olds play on computers!) Thanks!

Messages and categories will stay the same. Colors should stay roughly the same, but some things will have to be tweaked. Without seeing your board as it is now, I can't really say anything more specific.

Ok, thanks. Just wondering if the picture on the home page will stay the same or if we'll have to redo it. That's the only one I'd worry about.

Perfect

It looks like your forum would upgrade without any problems. You have a very simple layout with the logo image, and all of that should copy over with no problem.

BetaZone will run until just after launch. Meaning you will have as long as the amount of time from when you convert your forum to v5 until then to copy things over. So potentially 3 months if you're on top of it.

out of curiousity (and i haven't read past this part yet so forgive me if I repeat a question already answered) what if our Beta zone boards is a mock up of a board in planning? Like what if I wanted my BetaZone board to be my new forum?

Your BetaZone forum is just temporary for testing purposes; it will be taken offline when BetaZone ends.

You can create themes with your BetaZone forum, then export them (which downloads them to your computer), then you can import them to your real forum once it is upgraded to v5.

Ahh ok... though like I said, this was a mock up for a new board I was planning to start. So when the new open conversion takes place later this month if i start a new board again will it be another beta or a new V5 board?
