A few suggestions for Private boards:
1. Ability to control what user-groups can see all threads. As of now any "Staff" user-group can. 2. Ability to create a thread in a private board that is visible to everyone. Most of the boards on Proboards Support have at least one sticky thread. Usaly with rules and/or important information in them. You can't do this on a private board, because no one else would see it. You could add an additional posting option. Or just make all sticky threads visible to everyone.

Just a little comment about your second suggestion.
If you need to put rules in a private board you could always do it by utilizing board headers as a work around. Either by putting the rules in the header itself or by using the header to include a link to a thread/sticky/announcement located on a different board.

But I would still like this feature.

I understand that, but I have a funny feeling that the staff response may be something along the lines of it not being a popular enough feature to warrant inclusion and that it would require a rewrite of a large amount of code.
Out of curiosity, how exactly do you intend to utilize the private boards feature? Typically I see it used for stuff like "help desk" forums and staff applications, is that how you're planning to use it?

I think if they just made all sticky threads visible to everyone, that might be best, and it should not be too hard to do. Yes, I will probably use it for a help desk. But maybe it could be used to collect entries to a contest, or allow members to report problems/bugs with the site.
