I think it would be great if a new feature was to make Spotify tracks embeddable in the forum.

This is already supported. However it's not working today. Check back in a week or two after we fix a bug and try then.

You'll paste the URI code into your post.

Example: [spotify id="track:4bz7uB4edifWKJXSDxwHcs"]



and it will work. Be aware that in order to listen to a song a person must have a Spotify account.

It appears that it is possible to post tracks, but not albums.

E.g. the above works, but inputting does not.

Is there any way to make embedding an album or playlist possible as well?

^Thanks, but the embed code offered by Spotify is in html form. I don't think it can be converted to bbcode (or at least I don't know how).  For tracks, Proboards has done something so that the forum recognizes URI.  I assume the same could be done for albums.
