Thanks, will give that a try. The repeating background seemed to work but is Proboards having problems again. I kept getting the angry bear upon trying to save.

Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS Scroll down to Editors, click that and then you should seethe following two options: Visual Editor, BBCode Editor Select Visual Editor and upload your image for "background image", and adjust the settings to however you need them.

Thanks, Stinky, I have tried that a dozen times, it just won't "Stick." I am using a seamless tile, didn't have to adjust anything, position, etc., for it to fill in for BBC and the Quick Reply, it just refuses to show up in Visual. I've been working on this for about an hour and really frustrated. I will go play in the sandbox.

I want to check and see if you're using an older theme and update it if necessary.

Thanks, JJ. I confirmed my suspicion and added the necessary CSS to get the Editors section working properly. Can you tell me if you can change its values now?

I give up. I tried to fix this by myself and I just can't do it. Brian, that did give me a background in the Visual posting area, but it wiped it out in the BCC and Quick Reply. Sorry to be a pest, but could I please get a fix to have an background for those two places also?

I've commented this code out so you can review it and decide if you want to get rid of it or not.

Goodness, Brian, you scared the dickens out of me. I was over there messing around and all of a sudden I had images all over the place I had never seen before! I thought I broke something. lol. That graphics 'touch' in lots of places is what I was used to having before.
I just added that code to the Global header about 20-30 minutes ago, so I doubt that was it. But I did spend the last half hour going through all my font settings changing them to medium... boy that was tedious. But for some reason, on mouseover on the main page, there was big jump in size. Got that fixed, now I need to figure out why the screen jumps on mouseover. I'm not sure what you mean by 'commented' though. Of course the image looks awful, I just used something that would show up, and now I know which areas get decorated. I am so excited! I am actually starting to have fun with this new toy.
Thanks for the rescue.

If anything in HTML is surrounded by <!-- and --> it's commented out. So if you put this in your Global Header: It would show in the page source (right-click > View Source), but you wouldn't actually see it on the page. It's a good way to hide something without completely getting rid of it.

Ahh, I have seen that before! Thanks for the explanation, and also the recovery. On reflection, I decided that code snippet might be the culprit. Not sure how to achieve the object of using it, but I bet I can... with a little help from my friends. I am trying to learn a little bit about html and CSS, but I see a lot of arguing going on on the net. We must be in a major transformation period because no one seems to be agreeing about the merge of the new to the old with the new browser versions and website decorations. I bet folks like you and the coders here are also in a transformation period, keeping up with the times.
Thank you for all you do for us, Brian, you are a blessing.
