If you haven't got this sorted out, give this plugin a go: Guest Message In Last Post Area 0.0.1
The message I added was:
<a href="https://www.proboards.com/login/4855884">Login </a>to view this board
The 4855884 in the link will need to be changed to link to your own login page OR just add the complete URL from your login page.
Let me know if it works and if it does I'll tidy the code up and finish it off.  |

to add register link:

and placed the center tags so that it is centered.
