Brian I put the right plug in now and i didnt copy and paste the text this time...still isnt formatted how I wanted. You need to use HTML to format the text. The start of a new line is indicated by the presence of a <br /> tag. Use Style 2. It's a container with no title bar. For some reason it wont let me screen shot. But once you activate the code and you scroll down to like the Clans category and look at the boards, the thread names that people have posted on are cut off and only the number of threads are displayed. I believe that's due to the presence of the images you're using as the names for each board. Normally the board would shrink to accomodate the sidebars (like the text boards in the first category do) but the images can't be resized and therefore cut off the rest of the board's information. A possible solution to this would be to use smaller images width-wise. It's also possible to use CSS to manually resize these images. I have this installed and I have about 3 questions with it 1) is there anyway to increase the width of it sidebar without the forum itself shrinking? 2) can I move widgets into the sidebar? 3) what did I do wrong with the shoutox it loads normally for guests on the side but when logged in its not there until a I click a board? website if needed 1) Nope. They both occupy space inside the wrapper. Therefore the width of the sidebar has to be taken away from the width of the forum. You can circumvent this by increasing the overall width of your forum to accommodate for the space taken by the sidebar. 2) I believe you PMed me about this, but I'll say it here too since it's probably relevant to lots of people. Custom page widgets only exist on custom pages. They can't be placed anywhere else. Widgets that you get from other sites like Twitter will work since they're made to show on any site. 3) It shows at the bottom of the forum all the time for me. What code are you using? Can you clarify what you mean by that? Can I not just cut and paste the side tables across into V5? The older side tables are incompatible. They use different classes than V5 and show up strangely. You can copy the contents of your side tables to these ones.

Brian3) It shows at the bottom of the forum all the time for me. What code are you using? I was originally using the move shoutbox to sidebar code and it seemed to give confusion on my forum to some members so I took it out until I knew what I was dealing in order to make it work

Brian everything is fine now but one small thing. As you see I added 2 images into the sidebar. They seem a bit shifted to the right. I did a center code and they still dont seem centered. what can I do?

I did a center code and they still dont seem centered. what can I do? Increasing the width will fix that. The boxes have 5px of padding to look nicer. To compensate, you should add 10 to whatever width you intended to have originally.

Brian Is there a way to make tabs inside the side bar? Not with anything that my code uses. You would need someone else to make a code or plugin.

emily, if you have a code for an existing tabbed table that already works standalone it's possible to move it into the sidebar.

There might be some inconsistencies. I know Jordan has a plugin in this thread that automatically generates a tabbed table. You shoult be able to move it to your sidebar with a little bit of Javascript, which I can provide.

Just let me know when you're ready. I did the first set of tabbed side bars I want, figured I'll do them one at a time edit: I'm hoping to do several sets of tabbed side bars, btw edit: my site, if it helps breakthespell.proboards.com/I'm not sure if you can do several with that plugin. You would want to ask the plugin author about that. Anyways, here's a quick Javascript code that should move it into your sidebar. You can place it in your Global Header. To make it work, make an empty Style 2 container with the ID side-tabs and place it wherever you want in your sidebar. Or if you want a different ID, you can replace side-tabs in the code with whatever you set the ID of your container to in the plugin settings. The code should move the tabbed table automatically into the new container that you created.

Quick couple questions, is there way to make a bar between the two choices? so people know there are two tabs? also, how can I make it UNcollapsible? Is this due to my collapsible categories plug in?I don't think the collapsible categories plugin affects it, since I don't have that enabled on my forum and it's doing it. All other queries should go to Jordan in his plugin thread since he made it.

Just wanted to say THANKS! The absolute most desired thing I wanted to do was have a floating shoutbox in a side column. Your work, combined with a little snippet I found in this forum, did exactly that- right out of the box. I had to figure out how to change my forum's default width, but that wasn't too hard even for a nube like me. One observation: The box "bumps" the very top of the window. For me, I have a busy bar in my browser- lots of icons. It would be visually easier if there was a tiny amount of padding between the box and the top of the window. I accomplished this of sorts by making the container's border (I think that's the right word) invisible. Thanks again, now off to find out how to add 'recents posts' under my shoutbox.

I'll see what I can do about it sticking directly to the top. Hopefully spacing it isn't too hard to implement.
