Sidebar Redux

I apologize if this is too nube of a question, but I'm gonna ask anyway.
When I was first trying to get the 2 column layout, I found the Admin -> Structure -> Custom Pages -> Visual Editor. Within it, I saw they are using the term "Widgets" to enable a simple insertion of the various modules (except for the shoutbox?).
Anyway, since I was able to insert the shoutbox into your floating sidebar I would like to insert other modules as well (naturally).
My question is- where/how do I find what the modules are named? Been looking through the forum, but it's a lot to learn and it's been quite a few years since I played with web stuff.
Specifically, I would like to have:
Who's Online now
New Posts
Upcoming Events
Personal Messages

These all would function nicely in your floating sidebars.

I'm not asking for you to give me all that code (unless you want to), just perhaps some good keywords I can use to search or a thread(s) that covers this sort of thing.

BTW- I used the snippet from here to get the shoutbox into your sidebar:

Updated to 1.3.1 to include the option to change the distance from the top when a sidebar is in fixed position.

Anything that exists inside the Forum Wrapper can exist inside the sidebar on any page. Anything that's specific to one page (users online, widgets, events, etc.) can't exist elsewhere since they're specific to their respective pages and don't appear in the source of any other pages.

The only one you listed that would be possible to place inside your sidebar is personal messages, since they exist in the navigation menu on every page of the forum.

Crap!  Disregard the below.  I moved the $[header] to the wrong spot!  Stupid me.  I got it now.


Due to an apparent bug in Tim Camara's ProBoards Sidebar causing duplicates in the Message system, I want to give your plug-in a try.  Damn there's a lot of text to look through with 17 pages here (so far), but my tertiary scan through the pages didn't find an answer to my question about 'position', so here I am...

Can I make your Redux Sidebar sit under the Header as it does below with Tim's so the header stretches the width of the screen while the forum is at my % I set?

I wanted to say, thank you so much for creating this! I've read through the above posts and I just can't sort out what my problem is! I don't even have another plugin! Here is my forum: forsvinner.boards.net/forum How can I get the sidebar to go beside the banner without it pushing my entire forum over and get it to where I can still see my banner?

Trying to use this plugin, but all it wants to do is take up half of the width I've set my board(set at 1000px) even though I have the left sidebar width set at 200px.
Default skin, no other plugin's. I checked all the settings for the plug in and set the spacing and widths to be the same as in the example/help popup thing

How can I have the sidebar aligned next to the boards under the banner (like when choosing "no" on Move Banner) and still have the Banner below the ads? link

Have you both definitely got the px after the width and any other values like spacing? ie. 10px in the box not just 10. (As you seem to have the same problem.)

I have all of those checked and they all have px at the end.

Use the Welcome Header Below Ad plugin linked in my first post.

I managed to fix it, I accidentally put pc instead of px... whoops *shouldn't edit stuff while halfway asleep*

I think i messed up somewhere as I can see all the containers except the shoutbox.
