hi all,
i just had a little "chat" with Ricky Zyvoloski re: the possibility of (paypal/ google/ whatever - pref. paypal) integrated pay services for 'premium' features on a board in general (we're not talking whole forum - just certain premium features). that led to: not possible at the moment, but suggest it.
generally i was looking into that for a project planned. and yes, i can see your faces rite now! why would we support that on the free proboards.... well, stay with me a minute! the paid proboard+ (or whatever you call it) cost money. this money has to be made somehow. in giving forum owners a easy integrated way to make some money, they will be way more likely to spend it on a pro-account (so to say). so it would be a win-win, forum operator makes money of the forum (thx to integration gives cudos to proboards), there is money coming in -> there is money to spend to upgrade account. upgraded account means proboards gets some cash as well and most likely more free users will upgrade to paid account.
if i run a forum without making money/ just 'outside' possibilities to make money (i have to code it myself/ its not really part of the forum) i am much less likely to spend it back 'into the system' (not good for proboards, also not good for me - if it is not part of the forum ppl feel like sth shady is going on).
so, i really urge you to consider this or give me your opinion why that line of thought is crap!
