I've done a search on this in feature requests and couldn't find anything so hopefully I'm not duplicating (again!)
I read someone's answer to a question and thought I'd like to follow them - I clicked on the action gear in their post (next to the Quote button) as it seemed the intuitive thing to do - but the only member options you get are Send Message or Give Gift
I think it would be useful if there was also a Follow Member option
It would save having to go to that member's profile in order to follow them, which in turn would mean that you could carry on reading the thread you were in more easily. I guess you could call it 'in thread following'
Alternatively, perhaps a Follow button in their mini-profile next to their post (that didn't take you away from the page/post/thread you were reading) might work?
Just an idea

Greetings,
I think this was requested and I believe the reasoning was that you could open their profile (or open it in a new tab/window) and follow them from there. Not having the feature on the thread page was to prevent spam-following.

Has it? Darn, I couldn't find it even searching just "follow". Oh well I know you can open the profile but just seems like hassle. I can't see why spam-following is an issue either to a forum where members can be regulated and moderated etc and you have the ability to block users Still, like I said, just an idea. I think if Proboards is about developing integrating features that are about developing links between individuals and groups within a larger forum it would make sense to make it as easy as possible Cheers RedBassett

I personally agree, but I am just repeating what I remember. Apologies for not having a better answer.

I'm pretty sure that you can add it yourself though with template mods.

Chris covered the bit I left out. This is an option if you don't mind modifying your forum's templates.

Thanks Chris and RedBassett To be honest, it isn't something I would bother doing if it were just me I don't think. It was just the general principle of everyone being able to follow/friend more easily I think it's because I'm a bit mad for Twitter so I like everything to be as easy as pie
