i'm using the colorsmear plugin along with this, and the button to add colorsmear in posts doesn't work when i have this code up. i tried to fix the problem on my own by simply disabling the colorsmear plugin for posts, thus removing the button for it. then i tried to add the colorsmear tags and button this with code the colorsmear tags are as follows: [smear:#color1][/smear:#color2] with this code i can't add the :#color parts because it puts the equals sign and quotation marks in. those things are great for most every other thing possible but in this situation it doesn't make the same result for the colorsmear OK now I see the light! May I ask what version of the UBBC plugin you are running? Older versions didn't play nice with other plugins but newer versions attempt to detect buttons added to the quick reply through nonstandard means and sets up a do-not-eat-the-plugins preservation zone. As for the proprietary tag structure I cannot do anything about that since the actual attribute creation is handled by the Proboards wysiwyg subsytem. I'm not as smart as eton to have my post button working correctly. Mine puts a tag on, but it doesn't surround selections The code in this post pretty much tells how to do it. If you need clarification you can always PM me bud, you know that self-disparagement only goes so far...

I know. I feel the need to say it to buy myself more time to get it working. I am doing a training seminar this week so my time has been muddy. Next week and the week after I have theatre installs to contend with.
I had a button added, and I have it adding into message area, but if you had something selected it woduld overwrite it instead of wrap it.

Hi Chrissy, I'm seeing two versions running (0.8.5 and 0.8.825) so I'd recommend you disable one before going any further.

Eton I disabled the one for the UBBC buttons for the Quick Reply v0.8.5 and now I have no buttons in the Quick Reply.

@christine1966, the newer versions allows you to create your own button groups rather than use the standard ones Proboards gives you and comes configured with a control group to get you started but if you wish to use the older method of just checking/unchecking buttons you don't want then delete any none-empty control groups on the CONTROL GROUPS tab and the plugin will go back to using the QUICK CONTROLS tab Alternatively you could create your own groups and check the "Quick Reply" as one of the targets to have your created groups appear on the quick reply.

Thanks Eton. A few Questions. Can we put the UBBCode Buttons in the order how we would want them? The reason I am asking is I think it would look better if the Font Face and the Font Size Drop Down menus would be first. Also I would like to have the smilie icon last.

If you're creating your own groups then you have control over the order of appearance by filling in the sequence field [ read more] A Sortable Image Selector was requested but shot down or at least not expected in the near future so we're reduced to typing it out for now

OKay I finally figured that part out Eton, Thanks. Now one more question for you. Mine now looks like this But how do I set them up to be like this Thanks Chrissy That bottom picture consists of four groups so if you want four groups then create four groups which will have separation between each instead of one large group. If you want it to be the standard buttons/menus then just delete any created group and use the QUICK CONTROLS tab instead. Part of the instructions on the GROUP CONTROLS tab reads But I would love your input on how to make that a bit more clearer.

You could have it as: To separate each of the UBBC Buttons in there own separate group you would start with the ones you want to list first, Hence the Font Size, and Font Face. That would in return put them in their own group. Then in the next group, you would add the next list of UBBC Buttons in there group and so forth. If you are wanting them in the Quick Reply be sure to check the box Quick Reply. If you are wanting to put them in the order in which you want them simply place the name of the Button you want first in the name box then in the Sequence Box you would list them according to how you would want them to be displayed.

There have been quite a few complaints about the interface being "too complicated" which truly befuddles me since I cannot for the life of me figure how to make it simpler than it already is and yet retain current functionality and leave room for future expansions. As a result I'm reduced to waiting for config-side UI updates such as sortable image selectors and perhaps a guided wizard mode for those easily confused with too many words to read and/or reluctant to ask for assistance.

As a result I'm reduced to waiting for config-side UI updates such as sortable image selectors and perhaps a guided wizard mode for those easily confused with too many words to read and/or reluctant to ask for assistance. once this plugin is installed, it'll just add all the buttons to the quick reply automatically w/o any user configuration so what "too complicated" about that, they don't even need to look/touch the default setting unless they want to add/remove some buttons here & there, so i think you should just ignore them... as for config-side UI, does PB promise any update? if not, you may have to wait forever...
