I think there should be an option as to choose which is the "default" editor. I want, when editing my posts on my forum, the BBCode editor to be the default so I don't have to switch all the time.
either admins can choose what should be the default, and/or users should be able to choose. or maybe there should be a disable option...I personally don't like it very much.

This option is already available.
Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Scroll down to "Posting Default"

I think there's a bug though. I changed it to BBCode but it's still at Visual by default. Going to go report that..

It's set to Visual no matter what. I double checked that I changed it to BBCode but whenever I edit a post I always have to change it to BBCode. The thing is, for a second or two, the tab's on BBCode, and then when it's done loading, it switches to Visual

Hi Jessica I looked at your forum. The Spoiler Tags 1.2.6 by Todge plugin that you are running is what is breaking your default setting. All I did to figure this out was to turn your plugins off and back on one at a time and refresh a posting page each time. When I got to that plugin your default setting to BBCode loaded properly. There were three big reasons that I knew it was a plugin. 1) You have 17 plugins installed on your forum. 2)It works here on support and we're both running the same software, meaning it was something you must have added. 3)When you load a posting page on your forum it actually sets it to BBCode and then a second later switches it to Visual mode. I suggest that you go report this to Todge in his plugin thread as a bug. So he can either fix it in his next version or add a disclaimer to the current version. |
