this may not be possible, to gear the new v5 to be more handcap friendly for both forum owners, layout designers and members? for some handcap or arthitic persons using computers can be very painful, but we dont wish to be left out of enjoying the online life. for some it may be our majority of interaction in real life. so we try our best to be creative in ways to achieve somethings, that others take as simple to do actions. i guess my suggestion is can the new version be a little more friendly to people that utilize the mouse, a touchpad or some form of ease of access tools 90% of time or more?
i personally use a corded usb mouse,(so i can pull it back to me when it falls away) ....typing i rarely do,(use onscreen keyboard is one mouse click a letter at a time) i rely on copy/paste for most of what i do, highlight with left botton, rightclick select copy, etc..
is there any way to suggest to those who make the wonderful codes and plug-ins etc to have that in back of mind when designing how things work or gets setup? i understand somethings cant be, and also that some people get angery or upset when a request to make things a bit more disabled friendly.
all i can say is, an elevator is almost a nessesity to someone in a wheel chair, and stairs are perfectly fine for people who can walk. but giving the option of stairs or elevator it seems the majority of people will choose the elevator. so gearing for some things, all might find a pleasent benefit.
thankyou for reading my suggestion , which i know is a broad request not detailed on how to achieve it. yours truely, angel g

Greetings,
The default appearance of ProBoards V5 is written to have support for most assistive screen readers, etc. That said, I fully understand that it can be hard to use with a mouse for some people. The entire interface can be changed through template modification. While it would require someone able to program the needed changes, this can be done very easily.
As a starting point, are you looking to increase the size of fonts or buttons/links, to make these easier clicking targets?

well for me personally .. i enlarge my ie window screen to 125-150% most the time , so when i read something or get at something to click,i personally have that covered. and just shrink to 100 -75% when i cant get at something that i have to click/submit etc that wont show when i have a window at 150.
i guess things like having to scroll back up to top in a thread to go to the next 10-15 posts is just a little frustrating (and addition finger movements that could have been avoided, less phyically pain). since after reading each post your slowly moving to the bottom of that threads page. why isnt the « Prev 1 Next » at the bottom and the "jump to" is no longer down there either. but next page really is the most logically needed to...turn to next page when u finished reading the last post on a page, not scroll back to top to pick next page of posts to read. i guess im trying to say a smoother flow of transitions to the next page.
also and this might be because v5 is in beta test, copy/pasting things when trying to make a thread and normal replys (when not using the quick reply) the things copied dont always seem to paste as well sometimes messing up. i know to do the writting/text (copy/pasting) and everything in the bbcode box, is the best location and not the visual box. might be better to lable visual tab as preview tab, because many members are going to think about typing in the visual because it sounds less scary, yet the many things they going to want to do, be it copy to rearange sentance or delete or to place in th middle of a sentance. will start jumbling if not careful.. im not sure how better to explain that.

On V5 the Prev 1 next scrolls down with you so it's always just at the top of the screen. Along with actions and search.

As Maiden has mentioned, the pagination (page selector) should scroll with you. Scroll to the bottom of a thread, and without scrolling up, look at the top of your browser's window. As for copy-and-paste issues, select the "bbcode" tab on the posting page, rather than the "visual" tab when you paste. If you do this often, you can set "bbcode" to be the default tab in your profile's settings.

We actually do a lot for handicapped users. We spent a lot of time making the forum work with screen readers for our blind users. You can also do everything with a mouse only and nearly everything with a keyboard only. We implemented tons of shortcuts. We built a mobile version not just for our mobile users but our members who use tablets and touch devices to assist their disability. I understand that living with a disability can be a hassle, but we've already done a large amount to make sure that our users can navigate the forum in a variety of ways that are the most convenient to them.
If you had something specific that was still and issue for you I'd be willing to listen. Though please be sure it isn't an issue with the tools you are using vs an issue with our software. Nothing that you listed above seemed to be an issue with the software as much as the tools or your environment. If the on screen keyboard has limitations then there isn't much we can do about it. The same goes for your mouse. But if there was a specific task you had lots of issues with we would be willing to assist you in dealing with that.

thank you maiden,RedBassett, and ryan and yes i do agree that proboards does a great job trying to work in a variety of ways for a variety of different types of people. and yes the issue with the <<prev 1 next>>> has now somehow fixed itself, it does now follow, maybe it was just a temp thing that hr i was on or because i tend to have screen at 150%. but right now its at that and the <<prev 1 next>>> does show now as floating so thats good. plus i have found a plugin for adding a second at the bottom. so we covered both ways... because the eye tends to look down for the next line or link to next page. thankyou for your replys and in no way way was i saying i dont like proboards! v5 is going to take a little getting use to but i do see the advantages.
