Birthdays on main Page.

I would like to see Members Birthdays showing like on v4.5 put on to V5.

As would a lot of us. Also I had a show birthday in news code. That would be nice..

In the info center on the home page you can click 'View today's birthdays' under the Members section to bring up a full list of all the birthdays today.

Also birthdays show up in the calendar.

Don't forget that members who have their birthdays hidden.

Was there something more than that?

How do you get the birthdays to show up in the calendar? It doesn't on my forum.



I would like to see the birthdays display without the extra click of "View Today's Birthdays." I understand there are those that are hidden, but most are not hidden.



I would also like to see the list of Members online in the last 24 hours without the extra click, just like on V4. Not a have-to-have, but a nice-to-have.

All these things add extra load to the home page of your forum (the most loaded page on your forum). That makes it take longer for you and your members. It also adds more strain on the servers for us when multiplied times 3 million forums. We already are adding back in the Members in the Last 24 Hours in a limited capacity. We don't think it's very much to ask for people to click once if they are curious about today's birthdays. Not everyone is on every page load. However if you want to know, you can click it. Easy. Just like Recent Posts or Recent Threads. If you want to see them they are one click away. If not, the page loads much faster and remains cleaner.

Understood, Ryan. Earlier you said that the birthdays show up in the calendar. On my forum they do not. Is there a way to get the calendar to populate with birthdays?

Sorry, I misspoke. We actually have a task we're currently working on for birthdays in the calendar. I thought it was already done and live. It is not. Keep and eye out for it in the next few months. Thank you.
