fileden.com apparently is down for days, and I am putting in the URL from other sites that would let me upload the sound and get a url but it still doesn't seem to work. not sure what I am doing wrong.

This is because you are using the link to download the sound. You need the direct url to the file.
(you can test this by putting the url in your address bar and see if it works , using the file for that browser.
It will either take you to the download page (wrong) or play the sound (right).)

But you need to do some work!

You need to find somewhere to host two files or somewhere that will allow you to hotlink to them.
This will work for modern browsers only. ie: IE9+ , FF, Chrome + others that support HTML5.

If I've lost you already then here are some more intructions and advice.

I would like this feature on my forum, I tryed D/L the pluggin but it wont upload, I know Im doing something wrong, is there an easy way to install this ? as Im confused lol, if you could guide me through what I need to do that would be great.

Is anyone else having an issue with the sound? I've tried different hosts using the URL code but no luck. It seems as if the "Send" button is not activating the "Beep" tone.

It must be with the file host, I tried 2 other hosts today and still no luck. Tressa, Thanks for allowing guests to test shout on your forum. I tried it out and it works great, that's pretty much what I'm looking for.
