Not show "New" for restricted area

I'm well aware I can mark all as read, but I can't keep doing that, when I view the board I just cant access the area but it doesn't mark it as read. 

So as the title say's I suggest it not show "new" for an area I cannot access.

We will discuss this. It may come down to that it is too many checks to see where you can and can't view just for displaying new icons.

Your logic is sound and that would bother me too, but it's going to be a decision based on load times.

Instead of just checking if there's anything new it would now have to check if anything is new and then if you have permission to access anywhere down the chain of boards and sub-boards and determine if it should display or not. The complexity of determining that you have access to the board and the first sub-board but not the sub-board inside that where the new thread just popped up may be too big a query for what we want the page to put out. Basically it might take too long and the pages would all load slower all the time for you. We already have complaints about slow loading, we don't want to add to that at all right now, I can tell you.
