If I move threads generally it's to sort of archive them, but I don't want my members seeing these archived threads, so I have a hidden board. But you can't move threads to a hidden board and I think you should be able to.

Shorty, what I did was make a Staff only category instead, and move the my hidden boards to that. I then un-hid the boards but made the permissions staff only as well. Now I can move threads there.

As moonbeam said, it's about how you set it up. There are reasons why we don't display hidden boards in the board list when moving threads. Mostly because they are hidden. If you plan on moving lots of things around like that then you can try different structures to meet whatever the goals and requirements are for your forum.
