I'm sorry. But I can't access a key for someone if they aren't on the page. So therefore, I can't loop through every single one of your members and get the 5 highest to display. It's not possible. Also, this plugin is no longer supported(I deleted it/removed it from my dropbox) because there is a template modification that you can use. That will be very much more accurate than this plugin. And it doesn't use up a plugin, and it doesn't add extra load time to your forum. So yeah. Go with the template modification solution.

not without an AJAX request. and I believe AJAX requests are still prohibited.. is that correct VS Admin

I am having trouble with this as well. Have inserted the code into the mini profile under layouts but I do not see the number of likes for a user in the mini profile at the side of the thread.

I have installed the dislike count plugin and that works but I cannot see the likes.

What am doing wrong please?
