Yes, those are even better then I imagined! Very well. I've attached specially-configured versions of the VDice and VDice Advanced plugins to this post. Remove any existing versions of VDice and VDice Advanced on your board and install these to enable dice rolling for a Pro Bending game. The dice are configured to facilitate the play described at imgur.com/gallery/PhiDQSpecifically, attack/block/miss dice can be rolled for specific elements using ranges: air or 1 air or air 1 | Rolls one attack/block/miss die for an air bender. This is useful for re-rolls.
| 2 air or air 2 | Rolls two attack/block/miss dice for an air bender. This is useful for re-rolls.
| 3 air or air 3
| Rolls three attack/block/miss dice for an air bender. This is a typical roll.
| fire or 1 fire or fire 1 | Rolls one attack/block/miss die for a fire bender. This is useful for re-rolls. | 2 fire or fire 2 | Rolls two attack/block/miss dice for a fire bender. This is useful for re-rolls. | 3 fire or fire 3
| Rolls three attack/block/miss dice for a fire bender. This is a typical roll.
| water or 1 water or water 1
| Rolls one attack/block/miss die for a water bender. This is useful for re-rolls. | 2 water or water 2 | Rolls two attack/block/miss dice for a water bender. This is useful for re-rolls. | 3 water or water 3
| Rolls three attack/block/miss dice for a water bender. This is a typical roll.
| earth or 1 earth or earth 1
| Rolls one attack/block/miss die for an earth bender. This is useful for re-rolls. | 2 earth or earth 2
| Rolls two attack/block/miss dice for an earth bender. This is useful for re-rolls. | 3 earth or earth 3
| Rolls three attack/block/miss dice for an earth bender. This is a typical roll. |
There are also special dice for "save rolls" (as described in the game instructions). These have a 2/3 probability of coming up blank (no save), and a 1/3 probability of coming up ? (save). These can be rolled for specific elements using the ranges: air save
|
| Save roll for an air bender.
| fire save
|
| Save roll for a fire bender.
| water save
|
| Save roll for a water bender.
| earth save
|
| Save roll for an earth bender.
|
A sample of what the dice look like is shown below. Let me know if you run into any problems. Otherwise, happy bending.

How do I get the icons and where do I place them. Also I have two other element dice. I plan to put in can you give me a hand?

mysterygirl92: I can modify the plugin to include more dice. Do you have images for the elements you want to use? As for the icons: if you're referring to the buttons that insert the dice, they'll automatically appear on the toolbar above the editor.

I'm not sure why, but trying to turn on previewable rolls is disabling dice in general. No editor button and the tags don't work, and I have so far seen no place to tell the plugin to use only normal, only previewable, or both, as described.
EDIT: Also, editing the post I've been trying to explain using the Dice in is re-rolling them. I didn't think this was possible, to prevent cheating.

EDIT: Also, editing the post I've been trying to explain using the Dice in is re-rolling them. I didn't think this was possible, to prevent cheating. Rennat: I see the previewable rolls are currently disabled on your board. Some immediate thoughts: - The previewable roll tag must be different from the regular roll tag. If you attempt to make both the same, the plugin will become confused.
- You can control how the buttons for regular rolls and previewable rolls show up as follows:
- if you specify "none" for the editor button for both regular and previewable rolls, neither button will show up
- if you specify "none" for only the previewable roll editor button, only the regular roll button will show up, but the dialog will include a check box to specify whether the roll is previewable or not
- if you specify "none" for only the regular roll editor button, only the previewable roll button will show up
- if neither editor button is specified as "none", both buttons will show up (so long as previewable rolls are enabled)
- The plugin should prevent modification of dice values. However, if you change the dice ranges during an edit, their values will change. You can prevent this by including the norangetampering tweak in the plugin "Tweaks". The benefits and drawbacks of this are discussed in this post.
If you're using different tags for previewable and regular rolls and all of your editor button settings look legitimate, please leave previewable rolls enabled (broken, but enabled) on your board and let me know here. You may have uncovered a bug, and I need the plugin active to diagnose the problem.

Okie doke. I set the preview tag as previewroll, and the editor button has disappeared.

Rennat: I've registered on your site, but I can't seem to find a thread anywhere that allows me to create or reply. I'll need access to at least one create/reply page to figure out what's going on.

That's strange. I don't think I prohibit posts anywhere by any person. Let me go check. EDIT: You must have been trying 1 of the 2 boards only staff can create threads in. minutechances.proboards.com/board/21/tower-yggdrasilTry there. EDIT2: I've tried testing the whole editing-a-post-rerolls-dice thing, and it only works in my informational thread. I don't know if it matters that the dice are within quotes. Or maybe it's a time-sensitive thing? I'll have the edit page open for a while before finishing.

Update: Turning Previewable on at all causes a line of text to appear at the top right of my page that says:
"VDice Error: Must specify an editor image."
I even tried setting a graphic for the Previewable Roll, and a graphic for the normal roll. Am I missing how to enable both of them simultaneously?
Need this fixed soonish.

Rennat: Yes, my apologies for the delay. The problem is that VDice must have a previewable roll graphic for the editor when previewable rolls are enabled and no editor graphic is specified for regular rolls. The editor graphic is different from the editor button. You can specify it in the "Editor Graphic" field under the "Editor Graphic" heading on the previewable rolls tab of the plugin settings. It's the image that's used to represent dice in the "Preview" mode of the editor. In the Standard Die Edition, the regular editor graphic is storage.proboards.com/5595628/i/3wz8zgRvkHBv1b7OL2dA.pngAnd the previewable editor graphic is storage.proboards.com/5595628/i/yqBjHXJ6vrD_aVXqBUvH.pngYou can use either of these two images, or your own image, but the graphic must be specified for VDice to work with previewable rolls. You might also want to check your previewable editor button image. The one you currently have specified didn't display when I attempted to view it. If all else fails, you can use the one that comes with VDice SDE: storage.proboards.com/5595628/i/8cq48G7Vyemwu9S_dJZP.png

Sorry for double-post, but I just noticed that there isn't an option to insert a low-high range with an offset. Will something like that ever be added? I just simplified the damage system on my board, and now I'm going to have to complicate it again to account for the lack of what I thought VDice was capable of.

Rennat: If you mean a range syntax such as 5-10+5, I suspect it will only confuse people. In any case, I don't intend on supporting it as a default syntax. Your options are as follows: - You can use aliases or custom roll syntax in VDice Advanced to define your own rolls. Since VDA can be a bit daunting for non-programmers, if you provide me with a precise description of what types of roll syntax you want, and what kind of information you want displayed with the dice, I can provide you with a pre-configured version of VDA that will make it so.
- The weighted range 5-10w1+5 stands for "outcomes 5 to 10 inclusive, each with a weight of one, plus an offset of 5". This is (I believe) what you're looking for, and this particular syntax will show the "+ offset = total" block after the base roll value unless the nosum tweak is present.
- You can simply include the offset in the range itself. A range of 5-10+5, is, after all, just a range of 10-15.

Thank you. I'll likely just try to make members conform to changing their ranges based on the offset.
