Virgil Sovereign hey, at the end you think you could add the possibility of adding a whole operation for the dice? like 1d30+33-15?, this would be useful for people with different lvls. Thank you!

Virgil SovereignI made an extension plugin that creates text based on the value of roll that was made. This eliminates the use of comparing numbers to tables in RPG situations. It accepts unlimited ranges and replaces with unlimited text operations. You can make up to 100 custom range tables. Here is the link: support.proboards.com/thread/543044

Ok, I cannot seem to get this to work for variable inputs. I'm running a Play-by-Post forum for tabletop games. I need to be able to roll just about anything to account for any system we can imagine. What I'm looking to get is basically XdY+/-Z. I'd also prefer to be able to set rolls for text output, bypassing images entirely. My form is rabbit-hole.boards.net, and I do not allow guests to enter. Gotta register. This outputs text based on your roll: support.proboards.com/thread/543044

Apologies for the likely easy question, but wanted to know: Is there a way to configure per-dice conditions and resources for rolls such as '4d100', for example, showing the first die as one image if it's between 10-20, but the second having it's own set of custom images and ranges, and so on. I didn't see a token mentioned for use on conditions to check individual die when rolling multiple ones in a single range, sorry if I've missed something obvious. ^-^;

Virgil SovereignHello I'm making a pokémon rpg, and there's a "pokémon encounter" board, and when you go there, you create a thread and you get a custom post template (plugin in the library), requiring you for some information to fill, and when you create the thread, you get a lot of generated dices from the plugin, to get different stats and information of the pokemon you have encountered, so what is the problem here? Well, when you are without javascript or on version mobile, you actually can see the generated unique code from all the dices from the plugin, so if a person on version mobile copies one of the previous made encounters, they get the same result as the one they have copied, so I'm worrying that people do it, and yeah, I might find out if the copying was made from a recent capture of encounter, but let's say after 6 months, that someone copies a pokemon from 6 months ago, it would be almost impossible for me to find out. So... do you think of something I could do to avoid this or maybe a way I can find out instantly?, I was thinking on detects when a thread it's identical, but that means the user would just need to add a space more or something else more to bypass it. Thank you!

I am having the HARDEST time understanding some of this. So, i'm just going to say what i'm 'trying' to do, and maybe get some coding help.
I'm wanting to set up my SAO RP site (with many DnD mechanics) to be able to set roll names like a 2d6 named 1handslash or something like that, and actually roll the dice i'm looking for. I want to set multiple ranges for these names, but for some reason, I don't know how to do it, and I suck with this coding.

Virgil SovereignHello . I've notice that if someone opens multiple tabs before they create a thread, when they send them, they get all the same values of dices, or when they press create thread multiple times, it generates the same values of dices, do you think there's a way to fix this? And also, is there any way users can't copy or see not even on the mobile phone the "id/key" of a dice results?, you know the random numbers and letters. And how can I forbid users to use ranges that I don't want them to use, for example, low-high. Thank you!

Hi, I'm late to this party, I think. I am terribly, terribly sorry if I'm a bother, but...
I'm attempting a setup on my board to test out some combat rules, and luckily, VDice (plus VDA) would be perfect for our use. The only problem is, I can't wrap my head around it (I admit to having trouble with numbers and code, css was so not-fun to learn). All we'd be using is standard D6 and a D2 for coin flips; I have my own graphics already and just having those be static images in the bg would be fine. Having gone through this thread, I checked out the version coded for Azerik's board back on page 16, but even looking through that and matching it up with the way the setup for it was outlined, I'm still clueless. Tokens?? How do the aliases connect to the templates? I'm so lost.
It also doesn't work on my board no matter what I roll, but that's a whole other issue and probably due to other plugins I'm running or VD/VDA's place in the plugin list (at the bottom, way under Yootil). Ergo, neither here nor there.
I would dearly love to be able to at least get a basic grasp on this so I can work my own way through it - no need for a specialty version here. But if anyone could break this down into layman's terms, the help would be much appreciated.

One of my users reported two exploits, and demonstrated one of them, here. The first exploit, which he demonstrated, consists of faking the showrange by entering a roll like 1-10w0,5w1. This is detectable by quoting the post to look at the underlying rolls, but it would be nice if that weren't necessary. The second exploit, which he didn't demonstrate, involves (as I understand it) messing with the client-side Javascript code that generates random numbers, to submit faked/controlled roll results to the server. If such an attack would actually work, then it seems like it would a fairly serious vulnerability, roughly on the same level as faking. I'm using the bare-bones version, VDice 1.1.5 Beta. I enabled the tweaks showrange, shortsyntax, norangetampering, and allowprivatedice.

Maybe I have overlooked the answer to this, but how do you customize the range for previewable rolls? I have the normal roll set to 3d6 however if I choose to do a preview roll it is just one dice with no specified range and I can't seem to find a setting for it under the tab for the previewable dice.
Edit: I see when I enable Dynamic Range it will default to a 3d6 range but is there any way to do that without the dynamic range?

Virgil Sovereign - Hiyas! I've had someone contact me over vDice not working for them. We're using the previewable rolls, however when they click the button the dice show question marks instead of actual numbers. I'm just doing some other queries when they have time to respond
