It'd be great if moderators could create labels in the boards/subboards they moderate in the same way that members can create them for PM's.

We previously rejected personal labels. This is essentially the same thing, they're just not private. People who can create and modify boards can create labels on the board. This keeps the power with the admin and his delegates. We don't want things like label menus getting out of hand simply because moderators moderate a single board. It wouldn't take more than 5 minutes for all the mods o f aboard to put together a list of labels and then have someone with the proper powers implement all of them.
I hope that makes some sense. Thank you.

It does make sense and still leaves me with the work of making labels for all 30+ boards (unless you like the inherit idea instead? ) Surely people should trust their mods to be sensible? Or it could be a power like 'edit' 'bump' 'sticky' that you could choose to give a group or not?

If you trust a mod implicitly then give them the power to edit boards. Problem solved. If you don't trust them with that, then we say that labels fall under that category too. That person can't be trusted to not break your boards, then they shouldn't be creating labels either. You either trust them or you don't. Labels fall under Category and Board powers. You also only create labels once and then edit them slightly over time. Most forums, most of the time aren't even using labels. And only in rare cases, like yourself, are people creating tons and tons of labels. So our argument is based on how well you trust the person. We placed the ability to edit labels where we felt it was appropriate. So let that person be more than they are now or don't. But in the end the labels aren't going to get updated often enough that this should be more than a mild inconvenience during the initial set up of your new v5 features. You are a valued member Maiden but this feature isn't broad reaching enough and we already made decisions regarding these powers. We are currently working towards launch and this isn't something that needs to change. Beyond not being optimal for a very small amount of forums this isn't an actual problem or a new feature. It is the intended function (for now). Sorry. Thank you for bring it up though.

Good point, (again the reason I haven't done that is the odd way I'm using the system which is all related to not being able to alphabetise threads any more) Appreciate the explanation as always
