Subboards inherit labels.

It'd be amazing if subboards inherited the labels of the board they were under!

Every board is unique. The only thing that makes a sub board a sub board is because it's placed under another board. We would run into lots of issues if there was inheritance. You are able (in v5) to move a board in less than a second. And it can go from being a sub board, to a board to a sub board under a different board in moments. We can't have labels constantly popping in and out of the board just because it's moving. Labels are usually very relevant to what the board is about or how it functions. That doesn't change simply because the board moves. Losing labels you thought were on a board would get us complaints, I'm sure. It would be a lot of work to make this happen and would get a lot more confusing to members to consider the inheritance of labels. It is a very simple concept to understand that the labels applied to a board are the labels applied to a a board. No more, no less. Moving it changes nothing.

I understand your goal is to simplify how you apply labels in bulk. It can be time consuming for forums that wants dozens of labels. But honestly that's really on that forum. That isn't the norm. And it's a one time deal for the most part. You set it up and you are finished. This isn't a problem that you deal with everyday of the year. We're averaging somewhere under 3 labels per board here on Support. And that's not unusual, that's high. We are aware that some people are applying lots and lots of labels to their boards. And at some point in v5.x we will come back and address that issue. Some way to copy label lists and paste them on other boards or something. But for now the system is what it is.

We only want 4 labels a board

But yes I hadn't considered the problems with being so easily able to move a board (which is a great feature!)

I'm sure I've already suggested that duplicating a board duplicates its labels so shall piple down on the issue.
