It'd be neat if you could choose to exclude a membergroup from the memberlist and member: x in the info center. I bet this'd be popular with RP forums who use IC accounts

This is an interesting idea. I'll add it to our list of future ideas.
It may be more complex to implement than I think, but we'll cross that bridge when we come back to it.
Thank you very much.
Edit: I can tell you right now the first thing people will argue against this is if you don't want to show up in the member list make yourself hidden. But I understand the request overall still. Don't worry still on the list.

ooh how do you make yourself hidden?
I've got people setting the accounts to invisible so they don't show up in the members online list to keep that clean, but I didn't realise there was already a way to hide yourself on the actual members list.

Hidden, invisible. Same thing. That was just my brain misthinking the terminology. You realize that even if we added your feature above, staff would still be able to see the "hidden" people in the member list and info center. Staff always need to be able to deal with members. So they can't be gone entirely. However to regular members it would be just like you requested.

Yup!
I don't mind things being cluttered for me (and as you say, I would rather it stayed that way so I/my co-admin can deal with things) as long as they'd look clean for members and guests.
The Members: x is quite a popular one for judging how active an RP is and having it at 90+ (with people now using Character accounts because of the cool linked accounts feature, rather than about 30+) is very misleading.
My members also said they use the memberlist to send PM's (to make sure they had the right username on V4 not sure if they will so much with the new PM recipient thing on V5 - I'm giving them time to get used to everything before asking any more questions about how they use the forum) and we don't want people PMing character accounts which is another reason as well as keeping it looking clean and easy to find a certain member that we'd like the feature.

Yeah, it's weird to me that they would use the Member page for sending PMs instead of the member search on the PM page. Especially since the Member Search has avatars and everything. Much more visual and it simplifies what you're looking at. It does require you have some idea of who your sending a PM too (like the first letter of their name) but that seems like something you'd know already anyway if your taking the time to PM someone.
