When you get to the point on your account registration where it says your account is pending the staff have the opportunity to show a message. It would be nice if we could include some HTML such as links in this message. For instance my forum gives pending members the opportunity to email the forum email to speed up the pending process. Right now I can't link the email or anything else in the message, it just shows up as plain text.

For security purposes the Secure Login and Registration System does not allow HTML to be rendered.
Sorry but we won't be adding this at this time.
Thank you.

So there's no way to even have links? No offense, but it's a lot of how forums work is communicating with guests. A forum I am on is open only to people that meet specific criteria. We have people apply as members and have the forum closed to guests. The application process isn't very good for us though because we need to know a bit more about people than what is in their profile. So we have to physically email everyone who applies. It'd be nice to have a contact button on the login page, but you guys don't have that either. In fact you make it pretty much impossible to communicate with anyone who is trying to gain an account on the forum. Even in the message where it says their account is pending you can't insert a link to a page where they can get more help or an email...I understand security, but there's gotta be a safe way to allow contact between forum staff and guests without individual emails...

It is far from pretty much impossible to communicate. You can type out an email (90% of users don't use local software so email links are unreliable in many cases anyway) or a URL in the plain text provided. That being said, I will bring it up again at today's meeting. I really don't expect this to change though.
And I would go out on a limb and say that when you mentioned you use this to expedite the registration process, that was invented before we created the notification system and it's ability to email you when you have pending registrations. So we already built in tools in v5 to speed up the process over v4. And you have the option to turn those tools on or off should you choose.
Thank you.
