it goes to a blank white screen and says this at the top when i click on the blue links

it doesnt effect my site but looks bad for members with errors etc etc, is this something which could be resolved?

The only minor flaw in your plug-in design is:
When someone clicks on the lower soundcloud web link in the embedded board post they are navigated to the soundcloud web source and away from the proboards forum which originally hosted the embedded soundcloud.

This is not the default navigation method for proboard forum board post links (which navigate such links to a new browser window/tab).
Shouldn't the HTML "_blank" method apply in this plug-in coding to coincide with proboard linking policy?

It is hard enough attracting others to register with our proboard forums without these distractive internet cyber diversions in a competitive social networking website world.

The trouble with many ingenious coders is they are too impetuous to flaunter their showcase without doing the hard graft in help file documentation and marketing management for background research beforehand.

@joecool111, aidan, and interested parties: I've updated to v1.1.1 of the plugin, which is attached to this post and should shortly be available in the library.

For MixCloud tracks, I've followed aidan7's suggestion of adding target="_blank" to the default player markup so that links open a a new tab.

Unfortunately for the SoundCloud player, the situation gets a bit more complicated. The URL that appears in the SoundCloud embed code now no longer doubles as a followable link to the track itself, and there's no way to deduce the latter from the former. As it turns out, the link provided under the 'Share' option works as both a followable link and as a URL for an embedded player, hence all will be well if this is the URL the user provides when inserting a SC track. If the user instead chooses to dump the embed code for the SC player into the provided field when inserting a SC track, however, the link that appears after the embedded player won't function properly.

As a result, I've removed the link in the default SC player markup in v1.1.1 of the plugin. You can put the link back in by appending e.g.

<a href="%URL" class="vsoundcloud-link" target="_blank">%URL</a>

to the SC player markup, but be mindful of the above caveat.

thanks for this, but it hasnt changed anything and the links still there with the error.

your post was alittle complicated for me to understand aswell sorry

Im having trouble getting the plugin to work on the mobile phone and apps like tapatalk... It works perfectly on my desktop...

Unfortunately plugins don't run on the mobile app versions of Proboards.

Great plugin, many thanks. One minor issue though, I am unable to use the 'Insert' button when editing a post, any thoughts? This issue occurs on both Chrome and Firefox.

As I say it's only a minor issue, but I just wanted to point it out in case you were unaware of it.

Further to my post, it's not just the 'EDIT' feature that doesn't allow me to use the 'Insert' button, it's the 'Reply' option as a whole that has this issue, whereas the Quick Reply 'Insert' button works perfectly. Hope that helps.

many thanks for the reply. Our forum requires guests to log in before they can post as it's an English football forum, and open football forums generally attract a large number of trolls. So to give our members a more pleasant experience we ensure all posters create an account first.

Unless of course I create a temporary category and start a thread there, allowing guest access on that category only while you investigate the issue?

Let me know if that will suffice and I'll happily set one up.
