Different Page Banner 1.2.0 [Updated: 28th Aug, 2017]

Hi,

I installed this plug-in but it only displays one photo URL.

I put one for Chess and Card games boards. One was pictures of chips and the other Chess pieces. Both boards showed the poker chips.

Any suggestions or fixes?

You have quite a few errors on your forum.

First, start with install Yootil, and placing it at the top of your plugin list.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but just in case you or anyone is still wants to know...

You can do this will some CSS using "background-size": developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/background-size

One exmple:


#banner-container > h2 {

   background-size: 100% auto;
   
}
Place that in your stylesheet, or wrap it with style tags and place it in your header / footer.

Love this plugin!!!  Am using:  Version 1.1.0 Release

All different page banners work perfectly except on the Profile page.

“Emergency Board” banner is correctly displaying on the "Emergency Board"  This banner is, however, incorrectly displaying on Profile page!

Jan 31, 2015 update.  Deleted and started all over again and "Emergency" banner is at least no longer displaying on profile page.  The "profile" banner I made, however,  will not  display on the Profile page, just the basic logo banner for all pages is correctly displaying on the profile page.

Just a few questions before I try this plugin. What happens when someone views the forum on a mobile device? I take it the banners won't work on that. If that's the case, is there a way to get them to work on mobile devices as well?

Is there a recommended size for the banners to use? Is there a maximum size?

Okay so I installed this plugin and after a bit of trial and error got it to work. What I'm not liking about this plugin though is that it replaces the default background with a single colour one. I'm guessing is that the default pattern that any ProBoards forum has as default is actually a banner and that this is being replaced by the new images. My aim was to simply create an overlay on the default background image. I'm guessing I will have to take the default image and photoshop the overlay on top of it and save that as my banner. Or is there a simpler way?

Hey Peter . I love your plugin. I have been using it for years. Thank you so much.

I am in the process of creating a new board on one of my sites. I've been using an earlier version of this plugin. If I update to your latest version does this mean that I will have to reenter all of the info for each board again?

In theory no, however I can't be 100% sure as I have never needed too. I am unsure on the changes I made between the versions, I would test on another forum if you are unsure.

OK thanks. I was wondering, because I didn't realize you had done any updates (my fault for not looking) however, the older version I have currently installed, I noticed that the Off option to make the forum name/logo not show never worked. I'm crossing my fingers I'll find out if it does on the new version. I'll go test your update on my test forum in a sec. Thanks Peter for the plugin. My members love it.

Thanks. I just did the update and all info was saved to the updated version. However, I still have a problem with the forum logo (what I named my site, not the image banner for the site) showing when I have chosen for it not to on the boards. I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong. Please help.

PS. Backreading this whole thread, I now understand that what's called the "forum logo" means the "image banner" and not the "name" I gave to my forum. (Sadly, I'm so thick when it comes to what things are called.)   Is there a way to make the name of my forum not show on those particular boards where I wish for them not to?
