that span is what helps the plugin find the date it needs since everyone was able to change what was in front of it (i.e. registered or join date or whatever). if you already have your registered date showing in the MP, then you dont have to add it again, JUST put the span tag stuff around it so it can grab the timestamp inside.
as for where it shows up, it is set to show up at the bottom of the MP so that it doesnt interfere with any other plugins that rely on the order of things at the top (name, custom title/rank, stars). How crucial is it that you have it show up directly under the name itself?

Okay, great, but I still have no clue where I put that in It isn't, I was just curious if it were possible is all.

Its possible, but like I said, if you do it and then later try to use a plugin that needs the order of stuff at the top to be correct, it will take manipulation of plugin order to possibly get it right. its one of those at your own risk thing then.
go into the template for the mini-profile. then just look for the registered date part.

I finally figured it out. Despite the registered date showing up already, it took looking at the template stuff posted previously & putting that same span line in, in that same spot under the "Member is online" part. Thank you!

Although I'll keep using this addon as is, I'm a little curious if it would even be theoretically possible to have a similar addon but which only counts how many posts made in a specific amount of time, say, a month.

the post count isnt broken down in that way in order to get JUST a months worth of data. the only other way would be to set up a superuser key in order to track the date of every single post they make and store a date... which would likely fill up the available space for the key in just a couple of weeks if they were heavy posters.

I've been using your plugin no problem until I added the awards system one (http://support.proboards.com/thread/437466/awards-system). Now I've got a double bar for the posting activity in every mini profile. Any idea? hogwartsww123.proboards.com

possibly because we both used the pagination function to make sure the code runs on all pages, but I think his code actually CALLS the function. try swapping order.

we are discussing in PMs a way to do a mutual callback, but ultimately all this should be fixed when PB provides the pagination function we need.
