This plugin is great! I am looking for something very similar - a plugin that 1) doesn't show the description on the board pages / recently updated pages, and 2) I'd like all my users to be able to edit the descriptions.
Is this possible with this plugin? Or do I need to look for something else? Thanks

Is it possible to add a highlight over the description, or change the description color? I'm thinking of making this a premium and want it to stand out for the premium members.
Thanks, Allaworld

Same as above, but also wondering if it would be possible to tag someone in the description?

Thanks, Allaworld The way most people cache text for bots, is they have the description hard coded to the page, but hidden in the footer area with style="display:none" that way bots see it there and users won't see anything.

it begs the question of why you would need a 4000 character thread description? the description will likely be longer then most of the posts... That question was raised, and the someone said he was using for images, and the image links might be really long. Does this allow for images to be inserted and if so how do you do it? I would like to be able to insert a particular image into particular threads. Not the whole bunch of boards. Different threads might get a different image next to the description. It would be great if the image showed up next to the description in the recent threads page, too.

So I've installed this plugin on my site, it's working, but it wasn't exactly what I expected. Some of us are confused about the description because it shows up at the top of the post and it's almost as if it's part of the post, so many people assumed the thread description was part of the actual content and it's really confusing.
So, I was wondering if there's any way of making the thread description show up in the thread title?
i.e. Thread Title: Hello Thread Description: How are you Can it be shown like this in the thread title: Hello, How are you

I resolved this by using the below CSS (For anyone else who wants to add text before it)
Just change the text in the quotation marks after the "Content" property.
/* Change Thread Descriptions */ div.thread_description_list { font-size: 10px; text-align: left; background-color: #2b2a2a; color: #1953f0; padding: 2px 5px 2px 5px; margin-top: 12px; margin-right: 2px; }
div.thread_description_list:before{ content: "Release Date: "; padding-right: 2px; margin-right: 1px; color: #ffffff; }
Thanks Dave

Is it possible to also add the thread descriptions below the thread titles shown in the last post column on the board lists. This would add so much active information to the front page of a forum.

There is currently no known way to manipulate how this shows in the thread list, correct? My theme is too custom for it to show in the thread list at all currently so I figured I'd ask but I know Shorty is inactive, just curious if someone else has figured anything out with javascript or CSS or something. Maybe using inspect element or something, I'm not sure.

Maybe using inspect element or something, I'm not sure. I think I'm currently having the same problem. I was disappointed to find that I couldn't see the descriptions with my current theme, but could when I switched to a simpler theme that doesn't fiddle so much. Since I can see it in other themes, I was hoping to find a fix for the current theme I like. I wasn't able to get a response on the theme's help page, so I'm hoping it'll be here. I don't know if I simply need to make the thread boxes larger or if there is coding in the theme that overrides the description plug-in. I'd really like to get it to work with the theme, but I'm horrible at scripting and coding.

My theme is also incredibly customised; it shows up, but aside from adding a margins and padding I can't figure out how to change the actual display. I can't even re-order it.
The plugin is also build-locked so I can't even delve into the script enabling the description.

Maybe it's time to request a new plugin be made but I bet no one would undertake it until v6. Still might be worth a shot! That's what red names are always saying to do when asked for a solution about inactive plugin authors, at least.
