Gorgeous, wonderful plugin (most of yours are!) Found a minor bug, nothing at all bothersome honestly. On a board where it's used in ever single thread, and there's multiple pages, when you click over to the next page the descriptions all disappear until you refresh. Observed here, if you want a live demonstration on my board: kenderbard.proboards.com/board/109/daras-profiles

Plugin updated to increase the description limit. It's now 3995 characters. And to allow to remove a description. And fixed the issue kenderbard mentioned. And fixed an issue with IE wanting to set the placeholder text as the description.

Is there any way to get a custom CSS style for this? So I could change the font size, etc?

I'd be interested in styling it two ways. From an admin/theme point of view to be able to change the font size/default colour and to add it to the top of the thread somewhere (like where the labels are positoned in a thread)
And from a user point of view being able too use strike through and italics and things like that.
But awesome plugin, excited for those fixes you've just released.
Sent from phone, please forgive typos!

Really useful. Thanks
Edited to add...
One glitch I may have found is that the description doesn't show up when you click a specific members recent threads from their profile.

Great plugin. Any chance, though, of being able to get the description to show in the thread itself (something like in the image I've mocked up below)?

I am looking for someone to create a plug in kind of similar to this. A plug in that gives a short description of each thread on the 'Recent Threads' page. The description wouldn't be put in manually though, it would be the first actual 10 or 15 words of the last post in each individual thread.

Alright. Sorry for the lack of a response. I haven't had internet on my laptop for a week. I was using my phone. I will start looking into these issues tomorrow. And I will get back to you.

Is there any way to get a custom CSS style for this? So I could change the font size, etc? Individual user styling, or you add CSS to your forum's CSS to style all descriptions? I'd be interested in styling it two ways. But awesome plugin, excited for those fixes you've just released. Sent from phone, please forgive typos! The styling, let me get the CSS you can use to style the span that the description is in on the thread list page. It should be taking the colors of your other CSS. Adding to the top, will add, with the option to have it or not. This will be in the next update(hopefully later today). User styling should be possible with HTML. Thanks! Really useful. Thanks Edited to add... One glitch I may have found is that the description doesn't show up when you click a specific members recent threads from their profile. Thanks for the heads up. Alright guys. I updated the original post with the new download link. I basically rewrote it, while using a lot of the old code. Pagination functions are super rigged, lol. Uh. I basically added in everything I said I would(I believe). If I didn't let me know, and I'll get on that. I added classes for some CSS.
The CSS to use for the descriptions on the thread listing is
div.thread_description_list { CSS STUFF }
The CSS to use for the descriptions on the thread page is
div.thread_description_page { CSS STUFF }
For the description on the thread page, I have it placed right below where the labels are placed. I hope this is satisfactory for you guys. As always, you find a bug, let me know so I can fix it.

ShortyOh, okay. Is it like a PB bug that'll get fixed or something? it begs the question of why you would need a 4000 character thread description? the description will likely be longer then most of the posts...

That question was raised, and the someone said he was using for images, and the image links might be really long.
