Stop Participated Once You've Finished Talking

I asked about this under General V5 Discussion but someone said it should be a Feature Request. Well it would seem that it could be very popular.  Some would just disable the participated button - but for me in particular I do like it on the support site at least. I can't always remember where I have posted a topic {my memory is pretty crap lol} and so the participated button takes me to my topics when someone has posted.

However, it's telling me "new" to topics that I have long since stopped commenting to and it's frustrating. Especially if you have new topics you DO want an answer for. Is there any chance to implement a way of being able to stop the participated button saying "new" when you have stopped commenting several weeks ago? Or a way for us to "exit" the said topic from the participated button?

And once again I come onto a "new" on a plugin topic that I have stopped commenting to like a month ago or more. This has to stop guys, come on, please give this some thought thanks.

There are already numerous threads requesting this exact thing and other features for the participated button. We already have a list of these features and it has been announced in every thread that in the future we will be adding more functionality to the dialog that controls the participated links. Specifically a way to remove threads from participated so that you do not receive updates any longer.

This won't be before launch. It will be in one of the v5.x upgrades.

I didn't realise that, I apologise. There are just so many pages of ideas and I don't really have the time to filter through them all. That is good news however, so we will just have to be patient and wait for it to come to light.
