Make sub-boards look like home page categories?

Hi, I just wondered if it was possible to change how the sub-boards display when you click through from the home page and see them all

Here's a load of them under one of my boards and you'll see how they are all just stacked. Ideally I'd like them to be separated from one another or otherwise a bit more identifiable

Is it possible to separate them - a gap between each board so you can see the background between them - and maybe have them look like the separate categories on my home page? Each with a top title area and curved edges

Or is it possible to have an image display over the whole individual sub-board area that is clickable and you can click through to the board's content? With different images for different sub-boards on the same page

I hope this makes sense, I think I'm confusing myself

You're definitely confusing me.

The sub-boards use the same layout template as the regular boards. Any template changes you make to the sub-boards will also have to apply to the regular boards.

If you want anything done to them differently, you may want to request a plugin for it.

What I'm trying to get is to make one board's sub-boards look like the categories on the home page - separated and with a title bar on each, or even just separated from each other. Or anything else that can make them look a bit different eg each sub-board has an image rather than title and description text would do it

Here is my home page - I have one board per category - and here are the sub-boards under one of those particular categories/boards

It's just a cosmetic thing I guess. Do you reckon asking for a plugin is the way to go or a template mod that would affect just one particular category/board and its associated sub-boards?

I think a plugin would be the more plausible route to take, as I'm not sure how to go about it via the Layout Templates.

Plus it's much easier to revert back when using a plugin.
