Hi,
I just recently upgraded my forum to V.5. I have an issue where I have assigned a user to a specific group, in this case a 'Guest Writer', which is not a STAFF group. I have a password protected board that can only be seen by STAFF, yet when I login under a test account set up as a 'Guest Writer', I can see the STAFF only board.
Any ideas why this might be happening?

Hi, By you "seeing" it, are you able to see the posts inside it? Or just see that it's there?

Hi, Conflict Scripts. What are the names of the specific boards on your forum that you believe are displaying incorrectly?

Hi Conflict Scripts, I had a dev look into this as this appears to have been a bug. It's been corrected on your forum now, so members of the Guest Writer group should no longer see the staff areas. They have also added a task to correct the issue so that the problem does not return. Thanks for the heads up with this

In V.4 you would normally have to use your password each time you enter a password protected board after logging in. V.5 doesn't seem to do this. It looks as though once you log in to a password protected board for the very first time the boards remember who you are and therefore you don't have to log in again, even after logging out and logging back in. Am I right to think this? Is this a design flaw or was it intended? Stu

Am I right to think this? Is this a design flaw or was it intended? Stu This is intended behavior. If the password is ever changed, you'll be prompted to enter it again. But so long as it's the same, there's no point in having to enter it over and over again, so the system remembers it now.
