What does one do.

What does one do when a plug in doesn't work.

I have asked the author of the plugin to help me a month ago.

I would like the plug in as would my members.

What is the next step.

The only other thing you could try do really, is PM them. Even if it says that they haven't logged in for X months, doesn't mean they aren't invisible. SO at least PMing them gives you a chance for them to respond. Even if it is them rejected you saying they are too busy etc.

Indeed, what Stinky said above, I know Todge logs on, but she's invisible, so it says she has not logged on since few months ago.

It would also be, that only the author can edit the plugin. Try PM'ing them, see what you get. That's really all you could do,

It isn't Todge as Todge has been very helpful to me. I haven't mentioned any names just wanted advice.

Would it be appropriate to ask for another plug in for the same thing as I can't get assistance.

You could most certainly try. Just be sure to give a short explanation as to the fact you have tried getting the other to work, and for the creator's assistance, but to no avail, thus you're request.
