I'm using v5 on my forum and view the forum using internet explorer, but some members only like using google chrome and for some strange reason the next page thing, does not scroll down the page. It means they always have to go back to the top of the thread to move onto the next page. Can this be fixed?

Hi, Davybeat. Can you link to the forum in question? I can confirm that the pagination bar scrolls down in every browser on a default theme with no modifications added.

I can confirm that it's currently working in Google Chrome on my end, as well as every other major browser supported by ProBoards. Can you confirm whether or not each of these members has Javascript enabled in Chrome? If they do, can you ask them to clear their browser's cache? If they don't, can you ask them to follow those instructions to enable it?

Thanks for your help. Dave

Let me know how it goes. That worked just fine for me have made a post on the forum about it. One other thing please if I may, I notice when I quote your post on here, I do not get your post with the word quote at the end that one has to make sure the new post is posted after, if that makes sense to you, any reasons why?

I'm guessing you're referring to the old [quote]Message[/quote] from V4. This will show if you click on the BBCode tab when quoting my post and typing your reply.

Its doing it as the default for every post I try to quote on my forum. its only when I click visual that it looks like it does on here. when I then go to try and quote another post I get the BBCode view again

I have just discovered this setting needs to be changed in my profile. Thanks for all your help. will I need to get all my members to make the changes in their profile? or can I make some change for the whole forum in my admin settings. what is the difference anyway?

Thanks for all your help. will I need to get all my members to make the changes in their profile? or can I make some change for the whole forum in my admin settings. what is the difference anyway? Dave All users are placed into BBCode mode by default when they register. We've made it this way because V4 was BBCode centric and didn't have a Visual editor, so the vast majority of users are used to this format. They can change it in their profile settings if they wish. There's currently no option to change this in the admin area. The BBCode tab will display any formatting changes you're using in the format of BBCode, just like V4. The Visual tab will show your changes live as you make them (provided you're using the buttons). For example, pressing the Bold button and typing will actually type bold text, similar to most word processing programs. Any BBCode you manually type in the Visual editor won't show until you switch to the BBCode tab and back.

Thanks for the unfo, now having played around with it I do think all members should have been changed over with v5 as visual is so much better and more easy to post etc.

If they feel it's easier, they can make it their default. I'm personally an avid user of BBCode. 8 years of using it will do that to you. But I tend to use a mix depending on the post. Visual mostly serves as my preview.
