Hi, Todge. I'm sorry to report, I downloaded the newest version and the smilies aren't appearing in IE8 ~

Hello ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥This is a tutorial I used at my site for members: (pay special attention to the Red) You can now store your own Personal Smilies / Emoticons, and use them when creating posts just like any other smiley with this imported Plugin v1.0.6 by Todge: Personal SmiliesYou can edit your personal smilies in your profile. If you go to your Profile > Edit Profile > Settings and toward the bottom, you will see this: where you can add/remove your smilies hosting url's. Example: (Make sure you click on Set Changes after entering your hosting url's) Due to the color of the text, I have underlined it so it's readable: Your Personal Smilies Add and remove your personal smileys. Note: Removing a smiley from your list will not remove it from your posts. This is an example to what it would look like when clicking the icon (Insert Smiley) image: Personal Smilies are your hosted images. You will also see View all smilies which is hosted by the administration if you wish to use those also. Note by Todge: This version stores your smilies in a key, but you are restricted to having 25 smilies.

You went to a lot of trouble putting up that tutorial, aRMY83. Kudos! I have to admit I was a bit haphazard and lazy with mine, linkThankfully, my members got the message anyway, and are having a lot of fun with their personal smilies. Thanks to Todge for a great plugin!

Hello whisker... I must say, your tutorial is great! The only thing that was not needed, or at least when I tested it, was the "Click on Save Account Settings" step you have. Clicking on "Set Changes" saved those images to Account.

Thanks, aRMY83! It may not be necessary, but I always click on Save Account Settings - just to be on the safe side!

Thank you and hello, aRMY83 and whisker. So good to see you both. One of the nice things about having problems, you get to see old friends! My personal smilies are all saved and hosted properly. They show in both Chrome and FF. I wouldn't even know about the IE problem since it's not my browser of choice, but I do check on things routinely in all browsers to be sure things are running as they should. On one of my routine checks, I discovered this problem. And sadly, using the latest version hasn't changed the situation.

Thanks, aRMY83! It may not be necessary, but I always click on Save Account Settings - just to be on the safe side! Lol, whisker, I do the same. I click on "set changes" AND "save account settings". But that said, there's been times I've only clicked on one but not the other. And they've both worked and saved the smilie.

♥ ℒʊ√ ♥, could you PM me all your settings for this plugin please.. The code is working fine for me in IE8, so maybe it's not liking your settings for some reason.

Todge, not a problem. But they're simply the direct links from Photobucket beginning with http: //. (no space) I'll send you the first five. If you want more after that, just let me know. You are also welcome to join my board if you like ~ townsquareexiles.boards.net/

Brilliant, Todge! I don't know what you did differently, but that did the trick. They show in IE!!!!! Thank you. Very much appreciated.

No worries.
It was just a little problem, where most browsers ignore an empty variable, IE throws a wobbly and steadfastly refuses to cooperate unless you tell it that an empty variable is just that.. Nothing.
