Okay so I enabled the money for words but it isn't adding any money (paying out) to peoples accounts when they've posted. Can you help me please?

No I'm not in the wrong thread at all. It's the word counter. It has had an update and now allows people to give money based on how many words they write in a post. It's under the compatibility settings.

This is the thread that the HELP url leads me too.

Just proof for you, I screen capped so you can see.

The problem I'm having though is that it doesn't seem to be doing what it's supposed to do. As you can see I've set some word counts and how much they should pay out. Yet it isn't giving anything to anyone. If there's a problem then I'd appreciate it if someone helped.

EDIT:- Yes I do have the monetary and yootil library installed before that question is asked.

Slendy you are indeed correct, that was a feature added in the 624 revision (which was never released) but when I updated to the current 625 revision to address a couple of bugs I mistakenly used the codebase from the 623 revision instead of the 624 revision meaning that feature is not currently wired in the code although it appears in the UI.

I'll notify in this thread when I've rewired that feature and sorry for the mixup

Slendy, sorry for the delay but I had to rebuild from scratch instead of merging since the 624 version mysteriously disappeared. Anywho, I created a new v0.0.626 with the money support put back in. I however rebuilt it from memory and it is a well known fact that my memory is not the most reliable so let me know if you see anything that doesn't look right.

I'll explain both modes (bonus and proportional) so there is no misunderstanding:

Bonus mode (the default) will ADD to the money that the monetary plugin doles out based on how many words were posted. In your image posted above you have word up levels starting at 100 and going up to 400 so if one was to make a post consisting of 120 words they would receive a 100 point bonus in addition to whatever the money plugin is set to give per post.

In proportional mode that same 120 words would be compared to the highest word up level and this example (120/400) would produce 30% which would then be applied against the normal number of points the money plugin issues. Let's say the money plugin is configured to issue 10 points per post then that 120 would earn that poster 3 points instead of 10, to get the full 10 points they would need to post 400 or more words. If you have a hard count limit in play then that limit will be used as the floor for calculating percentage, in other words once a poster reaches that limit that is when they start at zero with proportion calculated on the count that has exceeded that limit.

Is there a way to change the colour of the counter? My forum is around the colour this one is, and it makes it hard to see the counter with basically a white on white.

The counter inherits the same color that other buttons such as QUOTE, EDIT, etc inherits. If that is not the case then a forum link would help. In the meantime, if you wish to style just the counter (and not other buttons) a bit different then you could add CSS such as the following to your theme's stylesheet

birdstaff, according to the plugin data on your forum, I am seeing values entered in the payouts column but no corresponding values entered for the word up rankings. In other words it appears you have the following setup

The value in the Word Up column should be the number of words needed in order to be awarded the money value in the Monetary Payout column, in other words it basically says "if you post this amount of words then you get this amount of money". With no values given for the amount of words there would be no payouts. Staff members are of course exempt from word counts unless the option to not make them exempt is also checked.

I would suggest someone on that forum unchecks the "Use monetary plugin when posting"  option or come up with some amounts to put in the left column.
