question for a deceased member carry over

I think I have finally gotten the v5 the way I want it and Im really to make the switch.

1st question. This is a family forum and a sister has since died.
Does her old posts carry over?
Her account?
Does it all transfer?

Im sure this is somewhere but..
Will all the hard work I just did in v5 transfer completely once the upgrade is made? I did auto save/theme save?
Do I have to do anything special?

Just click the upgrade to proboards 5 in the admin right to get in the Que.

Just click the upgrade to proboards 5 in the admin right to get in the Que.

1) All posts, threads and similar kind of stats (members for example too) will 100% carry over. If you had 1,000,000 posts and 100,000 members, then you will do when you upgrade to version 5.

2) I assume you're currently on a beta forum? If so, just be sure to export your theme to your computer (admin > themes > theme manager > hover the theme and you should see several buttons, select "settings" > click the Export Tab) and then you can simply import it on your real forum once upgraded. Keep in mind this only saves your CSS, colours and a few other things (it says a list when you export). Stuff such as "forum settings" and "plugins" will NOT be included in the theme when you import it. So you would need to go through those again to adjust accordingly.

I did all you asked and looks to be V5 now on my site.
Now Im importing the saved theme but it has been for about 3 hours now.
How long does that generally take?

Hi, it should only take about 5-30 seconds, could you go to the theme manager, and see if it did upload, just never told you? Also, which theme are you uploading?

I made my own. And saved as posted above to hard drive.

this is what I see
I rebooted the computer in case it was hanging and redid it.. same thing
I am doing the third one, correct?

Hi,

It appears you're doing it correctly, and as noted should only take a few seconds to complete. It'll auto install after uploading.

If you're still experiencing issues uploading the theme, can you add the theme file as an attachment here please as well as the web address to your forum so we can give it a try?

It says the attachment is too big.
Should I try to remove the banner to make it smaller?

ok, I figured part of it out. Every image I ever tired was still there so I delete most of them and the file size is manageable.

Thanks for checking back on it. Since the file is over 2MB, it does depend on your internet connection. The office connection here is pretty quick, but it did take about 25 seconds until the progress bar displayed and the theme uploaded after that. I kept it in place for you so you should see it in your theme manager list now

ok I see it listed, how do I make it sitewide?
and is it an issue i made it as default2..err lol

is the url to the site the old url or the new one?

Admin >> Themes >> Theme Manager >> Hover over the theme, you should see the test "Make Default".. click that

You can also check if the theme is there as well, by the same page.
