Notification bubble

I want to change the notification bubble image to another I have and can't find or locate anything on this, even doing a search which came up with nothing.

Is it an actual image you want to change it to, or just another shape? Currently it's simply that, a shape.
You can easily enough manipulate the CSS for it, to achieve all kinds of shapes.

The notification bubbles are not actually images. If you go to Themes > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper, search for this code: <div class="tip-number">$[navigation.menu.notification.total]</div> and change the code to what you want.

Need just a little more help here. I got the image to work, but can't seem to remove the white bubble:



Sorry to bother you Patrick on this and allow me to add that if any other coder knows how to remove that white bubble, please advice.

In the Forum Wrapper, you'll want to remove the things in red.

    <div class="tip-number">$[navigation.menu.notification.total]</div><img src="http://i47.tinypic.com/2s9oyzr.png"/>
    <span class="tip"></span>
</div>

This will get rid of the bubble left over from the regular notification bubble and show only yours.
