Email Addresses in Version 5

That, you do not need the email, to ban the email. I am glad its back here, just so everyone from v4 will have time to adjust. 

Email is useless in v5, due to all the security updates, and everything. I made a strict rule on my forum, staff can not even look at the email, so users can feel that their email will not be used in any way.

As ADMIN of my board, can someone please tell me how I can find a members e-mail address?
Sorry, but I cant see a clear path or set of instructions how to do this.

We're still in the process of adding these in, I believe it will be available by next week.

Available....where?  In my >Member>List view I only have the following fields:
Name Username Group/Rank Posts Date Registered Last Online

I can however see the member email address when I view individual profiles.

When implemented, existing email addresses will be set to Staff only. Then people can turn it down and open it up to more people if they wish.

Hi,
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but my question is about the actual format and locate as to where we (admins) will be able to see the member addresses.  Will it be in the >Member>List view?  This would be helpful, as it would be in a tabulated format which I could cut/paste into a spreadsheet.

I just had a thought as I was typing the last sentence....what would really be nice is to have the ability to export member info into  .csv, .txt etc.

Ryan Roos - I'd quite like to know if a members email address is 'hidden' as I did with v4.5 please.

Email addresses in v5 are defaulted to "staff only." It's no longer "show/hide" but rather an option to specifically who you want to see it. You can view them when viewing a user's profile.

Right, I understand that I can view addresses in each member profile.  But is it possible while being admin to have the email addresses be one of the fields in the >Member>List?

This makes me very nervous. I think it's a really bad idea that the admin's email (mine) can be viewed by other staff members. If they have my email and know my screen name, that's all anyone needs to hack the account. The previous admin hacked my account after turning the forum over to me, and so I changed all the pws and my email address. I have been working so hard to keep this information private, even changing my email address that's associated with the site. And now it's back to being available again. I agree that there needs to be an option that says "Visible to No One" and "Visible to Admin Only."

Or at-least hide the main admins email..

This may be against the Terms of Service, as we are not allowed to harvest personal information.

Ok, I'll respect that possibility.  But at least please include the email address as a field in >Members>List tabulated view.  I need to use email addresses as a means of member verification.
