Member Groups As Images Not Stars

I've seen this done on a harry potter site or two
and this might be easier than my sidebar issue but we'll see.
i know there are member group stars...
but can i take that out and add images for member groups instead?
so like under their username it would be an image not stars?

Is your forum still V4.5 or have you gotten a copy of your forum in V5?

apparently its in the process of gettng to V5

For V4.5 you just need to go into your skins (Customize Images) and and replace the stars with a new image. If it is going to be one image to replace all stars then you'll need to go to your group settings and set that to 1 star.

Let me know when your forum gets converted to V5 at the end of the month. (You do have the option to opt out until the end of the year, if you so choose, btw.)

it just did that now im on V5

Not sure if that means you still need help or not but with V5 you can do basically the same thing, you just have a different route to do it.
Step 1:
Go to: Admin > Themes > Themes Manger and then you'll see the themes you have, you probably have just "default", unless you already added a new theme. If you hover over the default theme you'll see some options show up. Click on images and find the stars and replace them.

(You can also just click on the default theme link (probably in blue) and then you'll see tabs, select images)

Step 2:
Again, if you are using one image to replace all stars, go to: Admin > Members > Group Settings and then set the group to the appropriate star color so it gets replaced with the image you added in step 1 and then set it to 1 star or if your image is to act just like stars by having more than 1, set that number to the number of stars to the amount you want for that group.

okay this is a similar question so idk if i should post it here or not but anyway
can i add a member to two groups (i saw i could) and have both of them be displayed somehow?

I think I know about as much as you and that is to give a secondary group to a member. How to make it show up automatically, is probably a little more involved than I can figure out at this time. I'm fairly new to V5 as well. You may want to post your question in the V5 board.
