Naah - I clicked on 'Messages' then on the 'New' icon to read a PM. Screen shot from my forum - Ajax message popped up when I click on 'next' to move onto page 3 of a thread.

For this most recent post you made, does disabling any of your plugins make that go away? What are the specific steps I can take to reproduce this problem every time?

I am going to add my two cents here. This is my test board jha.freeforums.net/I have absolutely NO plugins installed at all. I use it exclusively for making themes. Yesterday and today while attempting to go to Admin Panel > Themes > Advanced Styles and CSS I got this message

spiceelicious - I think that may be a separate issue, can you create a new thread for it?

For this most recent post you made, does disabling any of your plugins make that go away? What are the specific steps I can take to reproduce this problem every time? Good question…. if only I knew the answer. This seems to be an intermittent problem - as you are probably aware I know nothing about coding…. my thoughts have been that, as far as my forum is concerned, I haven't just added plugins, I've also made changes to templates and other scripts/codes with the guidance of various coders and members here. The reason I haven't tried to disable plugins on my forum is because the fault occurs here on Support where no plugins are used - correct? As this problem started for all fora at the same time I would like to ask if Proboards made any changes around that time?

I have just disabled all plugins on my test forum - no ajax message popped up. I then enabled quick reply with BBC buttons, the message came back, I then disabled the quick reply plugin. Next I enabled Smilie drop down - message came back - I then disabled Smilie drop down. I will keep going trying individual plugins and report back. Could it be that just having any plugin running is causing the Ajax message……

OK - I have now, on my test forum, disabled every plugin, then I worked down my list of plugins enabling and running just one at a time.
My test forum plugins:
Yootil Library1.0.0Peter Quick Preview for WYSIWYG0.0.1Admin Forum Age1.2.1Peter (pixeldepth.net) Hidden Staff Edits0.2.0Nightwalker/Thesealion Welcome Header Below Ad1.0.1Peter (pixeldepth.net) Image Security1.2.2Todge Notifications in Browser Tab0.1.0Thesealion/Nightwalker Personal Smilies1.0.4TodgeEdit- Remove Followers/Friends Feature v1.0.31.0.3shortyverrett94 Smilie Dropdown1.7.2Todge Snowfall1.1.0Peter (pixeldepth.net) Color Palette1.1.5Todge IP Lookup (Alpha) (0.0.5) L0.0.5Pebble (InterOceanDesigns.com) Back to Top1.6.0Aaron Goff Quick Reply BBCode Buttons0.8.5Eton Bones
The following plugins working without any other plugins enable caused the Ajax message to pop up:
Yootil Library Forum Age Hidden Staff Edits Notification in Browser Tab Back to top
Would someone please be good enough to try the same process of elimination?

Back to square one, I just enabled the plugins that didn't cause the Ajax message to pop up earlier and guess what….. yes you're right the message popped up!
As the Ajax message pops up here on Support I seriously doubt it has anything to do with plugins!

As the Ajax message pops up here on Support I seriously doubt it has anything to do with plugins! What I would do is just enable plugins one by one throughout the day, then when you get the message, go back and disable whatever you enabled. Help identify the problem. We are already working on the one issue where switching pages then clicking a new link can cause the error to come up.

I dont have any plugins on the forum. This randomly pops up when clicking to enter a thread. Its also happening on other forums I run, and none of them have any plugins.

Newby - that backs up my theory that this ajax message has nothing to do with plugins. VS Admin - I'll live with the problem until you find a fix.

I'll confirm that a plugin can trigger the AJAX message through inappropriate actions but there also appears to be a parallel bug or procedure misunderstanding with same message result for Mac users running a webkit-based browser such as Safari or Chrome since I just encountered it on someone's forum after disabling a problematic plugin which cleared it up for everyone except one Mac user still complaining of intermittent messages.

Its even happening on this support forum - This particular issue was noted earlier - it happens when you try to switch pages (which is indicated by the fact in the screenshot the pagination is "disabled"), but then you click another link before the new page loads. We're working on a fix for that particular issue. This is separate to the other plugin issues that were also causing problems.
